What romances did you wish you had in NWN2?

@Tooneyman: I like the possibility to improve the OC following our wishes (even if, to say the truth, if they really wanted to make us modding deeply the OC, there could have been better scripting options), but the truth is that in a game like NWN2, with all the multi-languages options, each time you create a mod in a language, the translation (and the acting voices!!!) brings A LOT MORE problems! I HATE hearing my companions switching from a language to another.
Plus, many people who don't know English well enough, simply can't appreciate the mods (or they have to wait for a translations). In this sense, I think that some basic development of the plot (also the romance options) MUST have been created by Obsidian...

The game called Neverwinter is being developed by Cryptic, and is an online game only. It doesn't seem to fit the bill for a MMORPG, but seem to be more of a coop RPG of some sorts. It will also feature modding and stuff like the other NWN games. But yeah, no single-player and we haven't seen the game "shown off" yet, so... Who knows.

It is not an online game only their is a single player mod as well. I've read the articles about it. Nobody said it was NWN3. Also we know that obisdian is not working with it, but atari is sense its their product. Anyway, getting back on topic. Romances even if they are in the new neverwinter hopefully they are at least flushed out better than the ones in the NWN2 series. I still feel they left all that information up to modders in the end. I'm not someone who knows out to program language, but I do understand what your saying. I took a class in college which explained the basics of code development and what not.....

@Tooneyman: to say the truth, I like the modding option very much, the problem is that I would like to do tons of things but there are some overwhelming problems. For example, since all dialogues are area-triggered, you can't use the same way to start dialogues because at each patch you have to modify all the areas again. And, I am discovering it just in these days, the other possible ways are TREMENDOUSLY complicated!
However, at least I have the possibility to tweak the game just like I want! :-) I just HATE the bad effect of changing dubbers!

Yeah... It's inevitable that in-game politics will begin to slip in any game involving more than 1 person playing.

@Zaxares: same idea here. I play just to avoid thinking about real life problems. Don't need any in the game! :-D

I just don't really like romances in games.
Yeah, you read it right, I don't want my Role-Playing Games to turn into dating sim.
English is not my native language, so to write something more than one-liner takes huge amount of time.
If you don't like it, well, disregard my opinion, it's not like I really care

Well, a half-dragon child can be extremely interesting for the development of a plot! :-D
I urge you to check out a novel trilogy called: DragonLord (set in Mystara, the 2nd D&D world)
A certain child is raised by a Human village and is considred a kind of "Half_Elf" by the villagers when they found him and his dead mother.
Don't want to ruin it, but it has quite a few twists and turns...

Anyway, to my primary type of PC (asimar/paladin), Neeshka was like a flame!
I mean seriously, she had me at "and I may have accidently backstabbed someone..." (yeah, try to imagine that)
Or when she impersonates the priests that raised her: "Helm the watcher, kind to childrennn." LOL!
I was so glad I DL'ed the flirt pack so I could blow her kisses, smile at her, pull her tail, or even slap that rear...
Ahem, TMI huh?
Regardless, I could see Qara as an alternative, just a very combative one.
I really don't understand the POV of the writers that had Elanee as the PRIMARY romance!
To me she comes across as this creepy, stalker, P word!
Think about it for a moment, what if I went up to some girl and said in effect, "I've watched over you since you were in diapers, and I love you!"
Get the hell away from me you crazy person!!!
It has nothing to do with being a Driud or an Elf, it was the fact the Elanee was a CREEP!
BTW I was so touched and a little creeped the FIRST time Neeshka meets and verbally spars with her as if SHE threatened any bonding between the PC(me) and Neeshka just by comming along.
It was hilarious!
Also when Khelgar said that, "plenty of women know about Ironfist manhood!" I think I was drinking at the time and almost spit it out... I wish I had a conversation option of "and are any of these, non-Dwarven ladies?"
Shandra never really clicked with me and by the time you feel somewhat sympathetic towards her you already can see where it's heading (bye bye)... It's written to be emotional impacting and Elanee almost becomes the default crutch. I admit first time through I did choose the spend the night together option, but with her, it felt rather hollow...
I agree that Kana would be interesting. i also like how you can offend her sometimes, but she eventually see's the overall wisdom of your choices, "That's why I am a Soldier and not a General, it will be as you command."
I had absoultely no attraction to Torio (nuff said). Might be a viable option for some people.
Juni from Highcliff might me viable (if you don't mind her son). I was disappointed that the next time you saw her you couldn't check on her or give her gold or help. She seemed nice enough and William really screwed her over badly. That's why I felt she was better without his arse and told her bears got him.
Captain Brelaina seemed cute, but she was almost as arrogant as Torio. I fear she'd take duty or station over Greater goodness decisions so in the end it wouldn't work out...
Here's an intersting idea: Light of Heaven (Asimar/Paladin)... She would have reminded me of the romance bethewwn Fenthick (Bard) and what's her name (Paladin turned evil in NWN1)
Would be best if you met her on the road early adn then from time to time always passing through, build up tension like that...
I only have one comment to make for the male NPC's
Bishop... While he might be the most attractive(?) of the bunch, he;s also the most evil.
I could very well see him romanced, and then leave the PC to rot.
PC, "How could you do this to me Bishop? I thought you loved me?"
Bishop, "Oh my dear, I do love you. unfortunately, I love myself a little bit more..."
classic evil...
I'd use that option if you "fail" to turn him to a more Neutral Evil outlook.
I can see him staying "loyal" to the PC if he manages (influence check) to corrupt the PC enough that he thinks he's turned her more to his ways, thus is compatible enough (for a time).
Not exactly happy ever after, but you get your evil romance...
Just my opinion.

Aribeth is the name of the paladin that turned black guard in NWN.
About Bishop, sincerely, I think that to meet a woman that might be stronger and more rational than him could make him changing completely his attitude and start behaving differently... but there's a long thread about this so I am not starting also here the discussion :-P However, the possibility of turning him into CN is something I would have really appreciate in the game (and not just me).

Ah, yes. I like the idea of romancing Torio. I like her icy, not 100% trustworthy demeanor. She'd be a great option for a chaotic neutral with a decent level of intelligence.

Agree with the Brelaina and Torio. I am not to sure about Kana because I could see getting into a Romantic relationship with her immediate superior being very troubling for "Way." It would have to be a very long term romance as it would involve some deeply held beliefs for her and I don't see her as the one to disregard those beliefs lightly.
Incidentally the first time I saw the court scene, I always pictured Sand & Torio having had some sort of relationship with each other. I mean the way Sand acted with her reminded me of his manner with Qara.

But I second the ideas about Torio and Brelaina! Even if I always thought Torio was more connected with Sand!

There are a few Fanfics on Fanfiction.net about Torio and Sand together. I could see them as a couple especially one where Torio could snark back just as well as he could.
