Neeshka, which this thread will probably be mostly about.

o_O to say the truth, no, it isn't. It's mostly a sort of random rant against half finished romances :-D

Obsidian just has this thing about hooking up with Druids. In NWN2, Elanee is your love interest and in BG2 it was *surprise* also a druid, Jaheira.

#1 on my list: Torio. There just seems to be something so ironic about the idea of someone trying to kill you and then falling in love with you. Drama at its finest.

#2 Shandra. She would have made more sense than Elanee. Shandra didn't have any hangups. Neeshka was sticky-fingered, Qara burned things down, etc, etc. In this aspect, the common farm girl could have been developed a lot better for a romance option. Plus it would have provided a tragic melancholy at the proper point and possibly even help find a bond with Ammon Jerro later on. So much space wasted that could have been written.

My biggest issue to romances in NWN2 is actually the complete lack of them. I tend to play roguish swashbuckling types (not necessarily by class). There just isn't a lot to choose from that have a lot of depth and design. That was one thing I really did appreciate in the BG series: there were many companions to choose from (sadly, not many romances).

Options that could have been developed: Joy, Teela (the dancer from the Moonstone), Light of Heavens, Kana and Captain Brelaina.

It's my opinion that Obsidian is doing a disservice by not providing a lot of romance to the RPGs they produce. In our medieval history, romance has been one of the most driving influences to greatness. Wars were fought for a woman of beauty (Helen of Troy). Anywho, thats my 2 copper coins.
