Yes, yes we know the game is supposed to not include the feature, but still. It would be cool to still have an evil look of the character evolving if they do go down a scary path. I mean make my character look more ugly or make the character's teeth look cleaner if they have a morale stand, but it would still be fun.
Why? not it would be fun wouldn't it?
Say hawke gets darkspawn blood in him and the more evil decisions he makes the more the taint takes over. Or say the more good nature morale choices the character makes the whiter the teeth look. Image IPB

Since DA:O has been decidedly morally grey in tone, or at least morally ambiguous, I doubt that's a doable idea. There's a lack of a proper yardstick if, as implied, they follow in the moral footsteps (or lack thereof) of DA:O.

LOL, I like the whiter teeth idea. But wouldn't that mean that the evil path leads to tooth decay and loss?

I would only support the idea of auras or appearance changes if there were a way to prevent them or turn them off with a toggle. Toggles for everything!!!

How does going to the dentist got to be a "Good" action?

Isn't a character system that isn't based on a simplistic good-v-evil opposition supposed to be one of the main features of DA?

So, no.

Toggles and alignment in the same thread? There go the kittens... No one ever thinks of the kittens.

Easy it means your taking care of yourself and your problems. Just like hawke would with his good nature if you choose that route.

I would actually like to see that. An option in a game where you can turn the auras off and on. Something like Mass effect 2 when you by the medical equipment and you can get rid of the scars! Maybe in a mage tower you can get a spell to cure you from the aura or something.

I do. I've already suggested that we'll use them to disarm traps.

Whut? I'd like to think what the unwashed masses consider 'evil' characters are more likely to take care of themselves, because they tend to put themselves above and before everyone and everything else.

Getting an affliction or receiving permanent battle scars, maybe to the point of losing a limb (here we go again with Hawke's 'weird arm') or eye over those ten years is another thing entirely. None of this needs to be forced into a morality cage.

They will still be used for malevolent purposes from beyond the grave.

Personally, I find milk in tea positively evil. But right now I can't get over hearing 'Morally Grey, hot' in Patrick Stewart's voice in my head. Wonder if Morally Grey smells of bergamot, too.

If ANYTHING, in most narratives, the evil characters are the ones that look GOOD. They're always stylish as well

"Tea, Morally Grey, hot."

Thats it, Patrick Stewart for BeardHawke Voice Over. Hell just have him voice the entire game.
