You may want to note that Flemeth was old when she met Maric in The Stolen Throne approx 30 yrs prior to the start of the game. She was described as having "wild white hair" & as "decrepit" in the book.

So, that leaves four possiblities from what I see:
- The timeline is wrong between the game and the books,
- Morrigan lied about seeing a younger, dark-haired Flemeth,
- Flemeth's bodies age unnaturally fast (she obtained a new body and it has aged to current state in DAO within 30 years) or
- Morrigan is much older than she appears.

Too true...!

Maybe she has eternal life but not eternal youth, so she must change. And why should she be possessed by a demon? There are other spirits in the Fade. It could depend in what she was feeling. A Rage demon would seem the most likely, but they tend to be weak. But if she wanted Justice for being betrayed...

OR - After meeting Maric Flemeth goes and possesses one of her daughters, say a 40-year-old. Soon after, Morrigan is born. Since 30 years have passed, Flemeth went from 40 to 70, which doesn't seem too off. I forget exactly how old Morrigan is, but if everything happened fairly quickly, then it could certainly happen. The only problem is that Morrigan would have to see a dark-haired Flemeth, and if Morrigan was 10 when that happened, Flemeth would have a 50-year-old body, so it is possible, but very tight time-wise.

From the old forums, Gaider has mentioned Morrigan is supposed to be late twenties to early 30s in age.

So She could not have been the dark haired girl that Maric saw.

I find Flemeth as a boring and old cliche of the evil witch, if she returns I hope i for our delight of beeing able to kill her for good.

First line "we all love Morrigan".

Bullcrap.

Plenty of people hate her.

Yes, so you have said in so many other forums. Note that Morrigan is one of the favourite in DAO.

So many other? I have said it twice.

Morrigan IS my favourite, but that does not change the fact that others disagree.

I just hope that she is not the cliché but it looks thin. I think Bioware passed on some really glorious grey morality chances by more or less painting her as an evil soul stealing abomination instead of some cunning manipulative but not especially malevolent creature/person (true neutral/chaotic neutral). same basically by making Logain do some really stupid and evil stuff that shouldn´t really have happened to him or be done by him (like selling Fereldens into slavery : After all his declaration of love for his homeland and its people he sells them into slavery and it´s not something against elfs judging from the way he speaks to you if you are City Elf and he reminiscent of Fiona i think ? (the elf that accompanied Marik and him)) just to paint him as an antagonist. Oh well.

Maybe Bioware surprises me and goes a different route.

My theory is that Flemeth used to be a Tevinter magister from Ostagar. Following the rise of the Darkspawn and the resulting collapse of the Imperium, she possibly did one of two things. She might have escaped the ensuing chaos and go into hiding or outright get killed and have her spirit linger in the Fade in a demon-like form. She remained alive but stagnant for many years until the events of the namesake Flemeth, the aforementioned magister serving as the demon from the legend. In the aftermath, she returned to familiar territory and returned to the Wilds near her familiar fortress of Ostagar.

That's my take, anyways.

Well since Flemeth needed to have many daughters in order to take their bodies, she would have needed men to get her pregnant. That being said her super secret deal with Maric may have been to get her pregnant with... say, Morrigan? Dun dun dunnnn haha. The timelines kind of match... Then again Flemeth could easily capture any old bloke and get him to get her pregnant, I wouldn't be suprised if Flemeth even found out a way to get herself pregnent without a man. Then again I'm tired and crazy so don't listen to a word I say haha.

I still doubt that she is an immortal Old God. I am thinking that she may just have a very unique demon inside of her, of which more we will learn of in DA 2

I think she is the product of a symbiotic relationship between the human Flemeth and the spirit personification of the Korcari Wilds marshlands.

So after reading the Gameinformer article it seems that Flemeth is a title that can be borrowed... Actually I am quite sure that its simpley Morrigan masquerading as Flemeth... But would that not attract the real Flemeth?

After you do Morrigan's quest and kill Flemeth, Morrigan says to paraphrase that while you have killed Flemeth in this body she may return someday.in a new one. Maybe like the Archdemon when you destroy the body the soul seeks a new one to inhabit. The Flemeth in DA2 might be the new body she took after her old one was destroyed

Then how would Morrigan turn into a a High-Dragon?

I think Morrigan and the Warden are completely outmanouvered by Flemeth regardless of their decisions in DA:O.

Flemeth probably ''breed'' and raised her only to concieve the OGB in the first place and therefore implemented certain ideas and morals to make her predictable.

In a sense Morrigan is already posessed by Flemeth.
