Bethany's hair does look pretty. I hope it is an indication that we will have some new hairstyles, since I play on the console and cannot mod them in.
AND she looks hot!! I just hope she's not the only good looking female NPC in the game (a female elf perhaps? hehehe).
By the way, I'm curious whether she's an apostate or circle mage. Just wondering how she joined her brother. Escaped the circle or raised by a witch/witches? AND maybe we get to fight templars hunting her . I don't know the story behind her yet but i'm really excited about her involvement with her brother (HAWKE).

I agree. I want good graphics, but I'm much more interested in the story and character interaction.

Needs a lot of work. Graphics like this will not find much praise, which could hurt sales. Ideally it shouldn't matter all that much if everything else is fantastic, but it does.

Haven't seen these posted on these forums, but maybe I could have missed them. Don't even know where they are from, just saw them posted over at gametrailers.com. (link) Open the link for slightly larger images.
Is that Natalie Portman I see there?Heh. Either way, the characters look great to me, but the environment and lighting might need a bit of work yet. Seems a bit empty. The Darkspawn looks something like Brom's (the artist, google him!) creatures - great design there.
These are most likely pre-alpha pictures and are not accurate representations of a final product.

Has anyone ever bought a game that you thought was ok and then when you start up you turn it off again after 10 min because the graphics looks like cartoons...

Tbh, Blue Dragon was like that for me. I bought it because of the good reviews and I really wanted to like it, I just couldn't get past the cartoon-y graphics.

Not to derail the thread here are two more scrrenies from TW2. THis is to illustrate why I am disappointed with DA2's graphics, at least in their currect state.javierabegazo wrote...

They aim for letting people with even lower performance computers to play their games.
That is what they said for DA:O at least.

Not to keep the TW2 comparisons going, but...both games are slated for Q1 2011. No pre-alpha excuse for CD Projekt.snfonseka wrote...

And yes, Geralt is a predefinced character. But, other than that, it was amazing to me how similar the game worlds were between the two.

^out of curiosity, how long has TW2 been in production?
A video showing Assassins of Kings was leaked on 16 September
2009, before the game was officially announced. According to CD Projekt,
the video was intended for potential publishers, and had been created
about six months before it was leaked.

Storywise? Please elaborate.

They started work right after the release of the first game, I believe. Thats back in 2007.

It's almost an unfair comparison anyway. Most modern action titles don't even look as good as the alpha build of TW2. I don't know how CD Projekt red is doing it.
I speak of environments of course, because the character models in TW2 still need work.
