Please fix this, I'm bored out of my skull soloing bosses and mobs... I haven't used any talent or gold exploits, and while I do have a solid mage build, the problem is that enemies can't hurt me most of the time (either they hit for very little damage, or don't hit at all)

A few ideas:
  • Reduce the XP reward for white/yellow enemies, and increase their numbers (ie, an encounter that normally has 1 yellow and 4 white, reduce xp reward of yellow by 1/2 or 1/3, and make it 2 yellow or 3 yellow).
  • Increase the hit-rate and damage of all enemies (not so much HP or armor... make them dangerous! not walking sandbags!)
  • Last, desperate measure: nerf all classes, except maybe warrior (never played, all I hear is whining in the forums about warriors being weak). Right now I'm playing a mage, but my DAO rogue has way more survivability, earned more XP (lvl 24 by the end, as opposed to 22); earned more gold (all those Slim quests). So, rogue will be even easier than mage...
Please fix this (which applies to DAO endgame: the only real threats were grab, crushing prison and overwhelm, and now I have so much HP, neither scare me. Grab I just nuke the ogre from afar...

When I ran through nightmare as a mage I had a hell of time, my spells were resist probably 75% of the time and I had spellpower out the ass so I know my spells weren't doing too few damage. If anything I think that the Warrior was the easiest to do Nightmare with.

See, this is where most people impose challenges on themselves. You could try not taking overpowered spells, for instance. Arcane Warrior is widely known to be incredibly strong solo class. Why take it if the game is so easy? It sounds like you're more interested in boasting than playing a more difficult game.

I was in a gun-fight with 3 other people, I dropped a nuclear bomb on them and won. Gun-fights are too easy please make them harder and nerf me.

P.S. Arcane Warrior is the single most OP class/combo in the game, try not playing with a godmode class/build.

It's a well known fact that Awakenings balance is off.

But NERFING is not the answer. The answer is BUFFING mobs, more Reds.

Even without a gold exploit, you an get full vigilance and the vigillance sword, right off the bat that is uber.

I like being uber, but I like it more when the ENEMY Has a chance to be uber too

Im using

Warrior/Champion/Beserker/Spirit warrior - Dual Wield Warden
Rogue/Scout/Ranger/Assasin - Nate
Rogue/Scout/Bard/something - Sigrun
Nature/Spirit/battlemage  Valen
Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/something forgot - Anders
I never use Ogrhen
Justice is spirit warrior

My weakest party member is actually Anders the Arcane Warrior

Ever since I set Valena to Grease/Flame cluster mobs, the Darkspawn die before my Warrior can even hit them... On Nightmare

"Stop being so selfish..."  You mean somebody can't express an opinion? I agree, it was a cake walk.  I didn't find much difference between hard and nightmare.  That is my opinion

You say you diden't use any exploits, but certain aspects of Mage combat is an exploit in itself. By the sounds of it, you were staff-pulling\\ killing mobs from a range in excess of 54, in which case caster bosses don't even move and will cast AOE expecting your party to be in range.

I admit mages make the game much easier, but all it takes is a resisted spell or a hex of mortality that will destroy you in 2 seconds. As someone else said, a high percentage of your spells get resisted and i know from experience 3 resisted critical spells can wipe your party quite easily.

If you want more challenge, adjust your fighting style, i recommend all melee with no healer in party, it is certainly challenging and i'm only on Hard.

I have to agree that nightmare awakening is far too easy. the original wasn't so easy, though still a bit too much.

for all those going 'omg don't nerf those that find nightmare hard'.. there is always the option of introducing an extra difficulty setting.. revolutionary I know.

That´s bullsh!t.

Both Rogue and warrior are stronger than Arcane Warrior, and even a classic mage is at least as strong as AW, if not better......

make tha game harder youself..   impose your own limitations..

Dont use potions..   this one quickly makes things tons harder..

gear,  Dont use top gear, or use lesser items..

Dont power game..  dont use your extra skill bonuses, try using diffferent skills that you never tried.. traps/survival?

the game can be how hard you make it..  perhaps in the future someone will mod a super powered elite boss in every pack, but till then, impose your own limits then see how hard it is.

Surely soloing it is enough of a limitation, no?

Solo naked. Or if that's to easy, solo naked with no weapons equipped.
That's a pretty decent limitation.

Some people actually like to play optimal characters and expect the developers to make "nightmare" setting actually challenging. Why should we gimp ourselves because developers are lazy? Bioware made nightmare even more of a joke than it was in classic DA - just run in, use your best nuke, loot items. That's how pathetic this game is.

I'm playing DA on the PC.

I normally play on Normal difficulty but recently switched to Hard. Found it was a little tougher but nothing I couldn't handle using solid and proven tactics. When my Rogue finished Origins, I decided to ramp it up to Nightmare for Awakening - well, that was easy. Rarely had to use any poultices.

Started a new Origins character and decided to go Nightmare right off the bat. Yes, it is more difficult in that the enemies do more damage and can resist your attacks more often. However, their hit points are still the same. In other words, if they died from a Inferno/Fireball combo in Normal, they'll die from the same in Nightmare. In essense, the enemies have become "glass cannons" - do a lot of damage but can't take as much.

Personally, I would have preferred that they upped the hit points or increased the number of enemies. Also, if there was a way to randomize the placement of enemies - it would make things less predictable and more challenging.

I found that Nightmare was a cakewalk as well, but this is coming from someone who struggled on Normal for ages. I don't see the point of upping the difficulty, though, as clearly a ***load of players are finding it to be challenging.

Although with the release of the new Golems DLC, this game has become challenging again. The Harvester is almost impossible for me without a mage... although, can I just say, whose idea was it to not give you a mage for this goddamn DLC? If you don't play a mage, you have NO mage in your party to heal or crowd control. It's ridiculously annoying.

can you name me one game that you cant power game into easy mode??  Please i gotta know what it is..  cause in my 30+ years of gaming, i havent found a single game that couldnt be powergamed into easy mode by an experianced player.

. not a single game..

BTW, suposibly awakenings is harder if you make a new warden, not use your powered up import..   but thats exactly what BG to BG2 was like..   BG2 was definatly easier if you used a BG import, the characters were much stronger.

Well guess what, you are the millionth person to complain about the game being easy. Of course if you play enough you get so good that the game becomes easy. Asking that the game be made harder just because you are one of the people that played through it so many times that it is "a cakewalk". There are thousands of people that are still not pro quality such as yourself due to them not playing often or not having that certain knack for the game.
Also, playing as a mage is the easiest class to play with the most versatile skill set and class specialization (ie. Being able to heal yourself and armor your character to be a walking bunker)
Warriors are considered the hardest class to play because they get the mobs piled on them for wearing more armor, and if you aren't good at handling mobs with your other team members, then the warrior gets cut down.
Btw, what are your stats anyway? You are saying that your hp is so high yet you are playing a mage that cuts down enemies that die so quick they hardly get to hit you, which requires a lot of magic and willpower if you are letting off all of those spells with such brutal power.
P.S. I'm not trying to troll you or anything, and if the game is really that easy for you, go with something a bit tougher to play, such as a 2H warrior
