I didn't sleep with Ashley and got the Dear Shepard letter. I consider the relationship to be officially over.

... It's impossible to get the letter if you did not romance Ashley.

I did romance her.  Probably accidentally :V  But we never bunked.  Guess that counts!

I also accidentally romanced Ashley. :(

Did you trip?

And then replace them with super model looking people in fancy suits for game 2.

Lol. You know, when I first met Garrus again in ME2, with Jacob and Miranda with me, I wanted him to turn around and say, "Oh, I see how it is. I leave for awhile and you've replaced me with pretty people in liquid latex. Nice, Shepard."

But actually, I don't think Miranda is traditionally pretty either. Her face looks consistently weird to me at times.

Jacob does not seem gorgeous to me either. They both seem average-looking.

hehehehe, I also thought Garrus would say something snappy about girl and guy replacing him and tali...or him and AShley lol.

Now with Miranda's face....I dont think they did a good job, sometimes I think she has the jaw of a man....when compared to the girl she was modeled after she looks alike of course.... but the jaw....is like Terminators jaw or something ...huge for a female.

Also, to reply to the topic: Yes I stayed faithful to Ashley. I understood why she would be hurt and confused on Horizon and in the email she sent it was still quite open ended as it seemed like she clearly still loved Shepard, considering she called him 'Skipper' again and said that she couldn't lose him a second time.
I read it as being confused and uncertain about the future but that there was a chance to mend the relationship in the future. So I figured it made for more interesting story telling to see Shepard try to rebuild the relationship he had with Ashley then it did to see him try and start a new one, so I opted to stay the course.
Of course that was just my choice, I don't judge anyone who saw it differently.

- She calls Shepard skipper
- She dislikes Liara (Because she is blue)
- Her armor is white
- Her helmet is a hood
- She hates the Council
- And her mom is probably her sister

Ashley is a hick................

- She calls Shepard skipper

An affectionate nickname because he's the captain of the ship. When people are in a relationship with someone they sometimes use a nickname, she just chose to call Shepard 'skipper' to signify that he is the captain. It seems more of a way to say that she has affection for Shepard while also retaining her toughened stance.

- She dislikes Liara (Because she is blue)

No, she doesn't trust Liara because she is the daughter of Saren's second in command and so she has difficulty trusting her initially. Plus if she's in a relationship with Shepard she percieves Liara as competition. Like I said before, after the Benezia mission Ashley suggests to Shepard that he should go talk to Liara because 'she's just lost her mum, that's gotta hurt'.
Liara's blueness was never even mentioned. She doesn't trust Liara because Liara's mother is the secondary antagonist and once Liara's mother has died and she realises, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Liara is in no way connected with Saren, her resentment dies down a little.

- Her armor is white

... and her skin is tanned. I'm guessing she's at least part Latina or maybe Brazilian, so what's your point? It's an armor color, nothing more. I have to say, it's a pretty feeble defense if you start shouting that simply having white armor implies membership of the Klan. Do you automatically assume anyone owning a white car secretly burns crosses every night?

- Her helmet is a hood

Errr, no I think you'll find that it is a helmet. It is the exact same size and shape and proportion as Shepard's starting helmet.

- She hates the Council

Because she doesn't like the way the Council handles humanity, especially given that it was the COUNCIL who allowed the Turians to start the First Contact War. She doesn't 'hate' them, she herself admits that humanity shouldn't turn down them as allies, just that they can't rely on them staying allies. Yes it's certainly a little prejudiced on her part but it's largely based on the fact that because of her granfather surrendering to the Turians her family name is in the gutter with the Alliance. Deep down she knows she should blame the Alliance for this but given she was raised to be defensive of the Alliance she admits its hard to 'be a patriot and pissed at the government'.
This is all brought up in a conversation you have with her during which you can get her to change her worldview completely into trusting the Council to the point where she calls Shepard 'Mr. Negativity' when he expresses disbelief that the Council didn't listen to him and later in the romance scene she admits that she doesn't blame the Council for being skeptical of their actions.

- And her mom is probably her sister

That... was just, pathetic.

Ashley is a hick................

Clearly once again I disagree as once again all accusations of 'racism' can be easily dismissed in my own opinion and the fact that you are now presenting me with armor colors as evidence just shows me that my effort to be respectful and open minded was pointless.
Still I shall leave you with this:
Ashley is known to read and recite classical literature and take a genuine interest in the writing and meanings and imagery of those texts. Hicks do not read classical literature, as hicks do not read.

If you don't like Ashley, that's fine. I'm not going to try to force you to, but just say 'I don't like Ashley all that much' don't try to declare her as a 'hick' and resort to ad hominem attacks.

I stayed loyal to Liara in ME1. I rather suspect the consequences of cheating would involve a teacup.

The best part of waking up is Shepard in your cup.

None of the ME2 LIs were interesting enough to romance. So I stayed loyal to the one from ME1. That loyal is kind of forced, though. There is no way you could really break up. If there was then I would have ended the affair. Let's see if ME3 does a better job. ME2's handling of the ME1 LIs is one of the worst story elements of the game.

The Horizon encounter is some of the worst writtten content in the whole game, it's sloppy and it fuses the Virmire survivor characters even closer together. Still, there's hints of the actual characters left underneath.

While I won't deny that Kaidan's letter is rather poorly written, Ash refers to Shepard as Skipper in her email. If you'll recall, that's her term of endearment on the old Normandy. They probably left it open to interpretation so that if you wish, you can see it either as over or as merely going through a hiatus. I don't think there's any set canon on this.

I found it incredibly strange that Ash calls Shepard a "god." It's also part of the "Shepard is too perfect" thing I noted in mah group.

What i really dislike about Kaidan's letter is that it's all about him. How he suffered so much because of deaths of his friends, how it took him a long time to get over guilt, etc, etc. It's just annoyingly out of character

All in all, the greatest shame is that Ash and Kaidan got the same cameo. They're so different, yet their scenes are exactly identical. That destroyed the whole point of either character

I've never gotten why that was strange really. Evidently nobody on here is around sports fans on a regular basis. The amount of players being called gods is astounding. I live in the American Midwest so you can bet a lot of those people are religious as well.
I don't see why it's so odd to apply the same thing to such a larger than life figure as Shepard. I agree on your Shepard is too perfect point. I just don't agree on this particular instance.

I tryed to romance both Liara and Ashley in ME 1, with the intention of romancing Ashley in the end, but Liara was the one who came to the room.

But after meeting with her on Horizon, Kelly Chambers asks if they (Shep and Ash) were just friends or was their something more to it, my Shep responded by saying something along the lines of "Yes, it was more than friendship" even though I unintentionally romanced Liara?

Also Ashley sent Shep a letter saying how she "cant lose him a second time and she was sorry" but when he was on IIlium Liara kissed him....His this the outcome of trying to romance both in ME 1 ?
