Anyway, I just finished Mass Effect 2 yesterday. I must be blessed because I'd managed to avoid most of the spoilers and completed the game without knowing all the ins and outs of what was going to happen.
I don't normally give feedback on games that I play, maybe it's because of my job but I tend to just let game developers get on with their own thing and if I like it, I like it, if I don't, I don't.
But, I feel like I have to say something about the Mass Effect series.
I've been playing games for a while, not as long as some but a fair while. I'm a big RPG player and have enjoyed pretty much every other Bioware product. Baulders Gate II was (and still is) one of my favourite games of all time, as well as KOTOR.
But Mass Effect (specifically number 2) has literally changed the way I look at games now.
It is, without a doubt, the single greatest game I have ever played.
The combat, the general mechanics, the storyline, the world, the character...oh my goodness the Character... Everything is *exactly* what I wanted in a game. I've pretty much played it non-stop over some holiday I had and I am genuinely miserable that it's over.
Whilst not every character was to my taste, every single one was interest and well developed. The changes and implementation from 1 to 2 is fantastic (and thank GOD no more elevators or Mako) and whilst I know everybody is different and some people miss some things in number 1, number 2 for me was an improvement on an already great game. Mass Effect 2 took everything I disliked about ME1 and made it ten times better.
I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I despaired.
A game has not touched me emotionally before, well, not until now.
I don't know if Bioware has CM guys who tread through the forums, but if you do and one of happens to see this... please, pass on this post to the team. I want you guys to know that *I* (and I'm not anybody special I know) think you have created a masterpiece and one that I will remember forever.
I can't wait for 3, and whilst I have hopes about what you will/won't change, add, remove, who can be romanced and who can't... I trust you guys and I really can't wait to experience the final installment.

On a final note, I really love how the Bioware/Mass Effect community are so much friendlier and less rabid than the fanbase of other games. You guys seem great!
(But maybe leave the Tali fans alone... She's a sweetheart okay.
