I really liked Dragon Age and feel like they have really hit it out of the park with this sequel. The graphics seem to convey a style much more clearly. If you have reservations as to where they are taking this, I say give it a chance.
Not much more to report, I really like the idea of the framed narrative and think that is going to be a cool way of letting the story unfold.

I was in the first group too, I am John's Boss (see post above). I really enjoyed the game. They are showing it on XBoxes which I will admit was a put me off a bit at first as I am a PC gamer all the way. My other employee was having to tell me which button did what, but after I got used to it it was a blast. Combat was fun and intuitive. It was more immediate feeling, which drew me in more.

Was there a long wait? How long did you get to play? And did you get a Tshirt

Mike Laidlaw did a power point presentation, then showed gameplay, then we got to play. I would say we got to play about 10 minutes, with about 10-15 minutes of presentation before it.
No Tshirts, we got inflatable sword/halberds. I'll try and post a pic if the weapon.

Why do I have to live in Canada....nothing comes to Canada....
Not even an hour from my home, theres EA Montreal, Bioware Montreal and does Montreal gets something, no!
Theres even Ubisoft in the city
Still nothing
Maybe Montreal is just good to make games, not promote them, not big enough of a market

Never was worried that they would do just as good with DA2. Trying to understand why other people are. o.O
The answer to that is simple.
We looked at the screenshots...
Glad to hear that most (if not all) have been happy with what they've seen and played thus far.
I'm most anxious to see the game in motion myself.
A big graTz to all those who've been able to see & play thus far!!!

I may not be a good judge as far as the difficulty level of it goes thou, as the other folks trying it were dying in droves, while I just found it difficult, especially since the only crowd control spell that seemed to be of use was Cone of Cold.
My impressions of Dragon Age II was more... restrained. Although the graphics do indeed kick some serious ass, the game play leaves a lot to be desired. One of the things they wanted was the ability to have more "control" over the game, my impression of that game design "enhancement" was that the game was less tactical then DA:O/A, in fact the combat seemed to be trivial at best, and calling it trivial is overstating it.
Your character feels like a powerhouse with one sweep of his sword killing dozens of dark spawn at a time... just... does not feel right.
The boss fight they show you did not have the epic feel of the first boss fight against the ogre at ostagar from DA:O, in fact it felt more like fighting a slightly stronger regular mob.

the problem that i find with games now , is that developers think that by having better graphics systems and allowing more enemies on screen at once people prefer it , so they do dynasty warriors style , lots of enemies easy to kill. thats good for dynasty warrior, but a game like dragon age is suited to having a couple of enemies, it makes the story far mor intense and means you dont get as bored as fast, as soon as you said that, i knew what had happened . and its a classic mistake developers keep making. da:o was the first single player rpg ive completed , i couldnt be bothered with oblivion , took too long and got boring, and others interest me to a point, i felt tho tha da:o had the right level of enemies and story to keep me intregued. from the sounds of it, it seems to be doing the opposite of what i wanted them to do . yet again its a game trying to focus on the warrior
The mage party member was also incredibly good, I just did not bother to switch over and left it to auto-attack. Never felt a need to micromange at all. Other folks did use the mage and it seemed to also wipe out monsters in droves as well. DA:O you had a party of 4 taking on a Ogre and it felt like a epic fight, in this you have a party of two fighting HORDES of darkspawn as well as a Ogre boss and it felt... trivial.

Zhadow: What does Hawke's voice sound like? Is it good? bad? or somewhere in between?
It sounded appropriate for the model that was the default it got to use. He sounds like he looks... if that makes any sense? Not too sure how good it will be when he is a warrior... or rogue... or whatever else you would imagine him/her to be when you design your own look. I liked the voice for the character model as it was.

Much appreciated in hearing a more balanced take on things, Zhadow. I just really want to know if the PC version is going to be as brain dead combat wise as the console seems to be shaping up to be. *sigh*
I really, REALLY like the new DLC that will be coming out. I personally am more excited about it then DL 2 at the moment.

Any thoughts on the conversation system? And how did the environment look? Was Flemeth in the demo at all? Thanks.

Is it a Morrigan DLC?!? *sigh* I'm looking forward to Origins DLC or maybe one last expansion pack more than DA2 right now...

Was NOT a Morrigan DLC, but I did not care... it was fun, and the adventure was engaging, I did not get too far into the puzzle of the initial rooms before I went into the demo for DAII but I was already "into" it. It was a expansion for DA:A that you supposedly can import your DA:A character into.
Conversation system for DA 2, was exactly as they have stated already, you get a choice of how you want to approach the conversation... either "Kick ass", "Friendly". "Conservative" etc. Only two conversation points in the demo, so no real comprehensive way of really evaluating it as of yet. It was interesting that you could have PARTY members try and solve a problem instead of doing it yourself thou.
The screenshots DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE., the backgrounds look MUCH better then the screenshots. Flemeth WAS in the demo. The model does not look like her... at all, but they seem to have used the same voice actor that they used for the original Flemeth.
