For those wanting to install the big picture, I haven't found a better page than this one: http://kerzenburg.ba...ead.php?t=34931
Sorry this is a slightly better link http://kerzenburg.ba....eu/bwpmods.php
The BWP pdf is also helpful for highlighting potential problems.
When you read it, read a bit beyond the download section and you will discover that:
R stands for recommended version.
S stands for Standard version
T stands for tactics version
E stands for expert version
I hadn't read ahead and therefore didn't understand that before I downloaded. ![]()

Even if you don't want to install the big picture the mod list is helpful both in seeing what's available and in guiding you about installation order.

I used to have a mod installed that had a chaotic good paladin kit.
Anyone know which mod it was?
I had another mod that removed racial restrictions so that you could have a halfling paladin or elven druid. Again, anyone know the name of the mod?
If I have the name, I can probably find the location myself.

BG2_Tweaks have such components:
Alter Multiclass Restrictions
Requires an Enhanced Edition game
This component has three options for changing who can multi-class, though it remains limited by valid multiclass combos in the game. Valid combos are: fighter/mage, fighter/cleric, fighter/thief, fighter/mage/thief, mage/thief, cleric/mage, cleric/thief, fighter/druid, fighter/mage/cleric, and cleric/ranger.
- Allow humans to multiclass: This option allows humans to become multiclass characters in any of the allowed combinations.
- Allow non-humans acces to all multiclass combinations: This will allow any non-human class access to any of the valid combinations; e.g. dwarves can now be fighter/mages or half-orc fighter-druids.
- Allow both: All races have access to every valid multiclass combination.
In some cases (and especially without the Remove Racial Restrictions for Single Classes component) the entries for the multi-class combos may be missing words. You can select these entries and the text and description will remain correct, and it will work in game.
One other restriction is that any mage multiclass for gnomes will be replaced with illusionist, so a gnome will be fighter/illusionist/thief instead of a fighter/mage/thief.
Remove Racial Restrictions for Single Classes
Requires an Enhanced Edition game
This component will remove the racial restrictions for all single classes, allowing for halfling paladins and half-orc mages.Alter Dual-class Restrictions
Requires an Enhanced Edition game
This component allows the player to change how the game handles dual- and multiclassing:
- Humans can no longer dual-class: This simply removes the ability of humans to dual-class.
- Allow non-humans to dual-class: This option will allow non-humans to option to dual-class. The actual requirements for dual-classing (stat requirements and the like) remain in place.
- Change both: This option disallows human dual-classes while allowing non-human dual-classing. In short, the opposite of how the game normally works.
Remove Racial Restrictions for Kits
Requires an Enhanced Edition game
This component will remove the racial restrictions for all kits though it will not remove the class restrictions (see the previous component). For example, if your selected race can not be a paladin, then the paladin kits remain unavailable. One hardcoded limitation remains--gnome mages must be illusionists.
But those required BGEE so I don't know if that is your case.
TobEx has some as well:
-Remove all race-class restrictions
Enables all classes to all races, except for dwarven paladins because dwarves do not meet the charisma requirement to be paladins.

I think that it must have been Tobex as I have never had EE.
That is unless a previous edition of BG2 Tweaks had that component without that restriction.

I have found the chaotic good paladin kit. It is the Holy Liberator in the G3 Oversight mod.
I have actually found it to be a lot weaker than other paladin kits. They get hurt a lot more.

use bws from the shs forums, gui installer that does everything for you and lets you pick mods modularly. simplifies everything. (but still takes hours to install if you're going crazy.

Does BWS allow you to install just SOA/ToB? and what does gui mean? I'm not very good at TLAs.
Edit:
I've already found out that a GUI is a graphical User Interface so no need to answer that.

sorry for the stupidly long wait in replying, but BWS doesn't let you install to just soa/tob unless you do a bit of editing to "unforce" the installation of bgt and bp-worldmap. i still have the install on my harddrive where i did this, soa/tob installed with a load of quests/tweaks/combat mods (i kinda wanna scale down to a few because scs2 and bp is just too much and the new npcs are awful, except for xan.)
i can't for the live of me remember how to go about un-forcing bgt though. i remember it was in one of the ini files... given the gap in replying maybe you already know.
edit: actually i remember requesting an option for the next version to deal with just soa/tob like they do with the EE versions but i havent checked back to see if it was updated to included it yet.

I think the TeamBG ones are dead, but there are a lot of other mods still out there.
By the way, is anyone still actively creating mods to any degree? This game's pretty old now and most posts I've seen on modding sites are at least a few years out of date, but I think The Grey Clan Episode 2, for example, was still being worked on up 'till about a year ago (now discontinued I think, which is a shame, because apparently it was almost done).
TeamBG alive and kicking:

Hi all! Does anyone of you know whether there's a mod that sets level-up HP rolls for non-warriors to warrior rolls? My 15 CON Bounty Hunter started out with 7 HP, but now at level 2 he rolls 1d10+1 at leveling up. I tested and found that at levels beyond 10, he gets 3 HP each time he levels up, as if he were a warrior.
Here's my WEIDU log:

I've already spent more hours than I care for on full re-installs in the past three days, so I really can't be bothered with yet another install session of 4-5 hours but at the same time having to use Shadowkeeper to adjust HP each time a character levels up is pretty tedious as well. Ideally I could just uninstall a given mod component, but I don't know which one. All I know is that it hasn't got to do with the BG2 Tweaks component that enables max HP rolls at level up (currently installed).
I know exactly how you feel.
I am accepting my less than perfect set-up for the same reason.

Hi Grimwald! In the end I did do a reinstall (without Tobex). My current BGT setup seems to be pretty stable so far. Had to crashes during my current playthrough in the BG1 portion, and none so far in BG2. Hope things will work out as well or better for you...

I think the best mod list is the BiG World Setup program (BWS). Not only is it an auto installer it is also a auto mod downloader and will check for mod conflicts. The developers maintain a list of all mods for the Baldur's Gate series (thanks Imp).

Is there a recommended installation order for EE mods?
At present it shouldn't be too complex as not all mods have been made EE compatible.

This could be helpful for BG2EE.
I don't have a list for BGEE. Maybe you could first tell us what mods you intend to install?
