As an example, I didn't like the nude mods in DAO because it emphasized that my PCs' breasts never moved.  They stood high and tall like Mount Olympus no matter what she was doing.

I didn´t mind that because the only time my PC was naked was during sex.

However, what sucked (pun intended) were all the naked bodies with an erect penis.

Apparently Cailan liked it when the darkspawn hung him up in Ostagar:devil:

I always thought COD was big because of the multiplayer option. Most people I know who love COD love it due to the multiplayer and XBOX LIVE. I think Graphics(not necessarily cinematics)  are big in those games because when you play multiplayer and when you play COD in HD you can better see targets that may be far away that you are shooting at. I know people who are unsure about buying COD Black Ops until they find out more about the multiplayer option. that said, I don't think you can really compare a game like COD to DA because the charactersitics of the  game are what makes those games so successful and so different. I personally have never played COD, as I prefer RPGS. I like   story and choices like DA. Many people I know who love COD also love DA , but for different reasons. People again seem to like DA for the story and choices, while still loving COD for its multiplayer shooter gamplay.

This makes sense to me. The only real experience I have with shooters was enabling my nephew to play Halo when he was a kid. It was the multiplayer aspect that really hooked him into that particular game, and the reason why that sort of game is basically all that he plays now that he's in college. So *shrug* that seems to fit with my limited experience.

I would still like to know how two things--cinematics and famous voice actors--impact the project budget of an RPG. Is there a report out there that says the majority of people who buy RPGs would rather have cinematics and famous voice actors rather than increased choice and more in-depth story options?

I really like the color...and *gasp* her hair! Love that.

Looks incredibly stupid. Such armor is useless. Should enemy try to gut her, cut off her legs or slice throat or even go for a heart stab - he will succeed.

Ok, it's not very a fantasy armour, but for a woman warrior, i like this type or armour. Simple, strong and good looking.

*blink* I didn't even realize she was a female until I studied her face. LOL I think if you cut off this person's head, the body could be any male's -- and I don't think that's an option I want to encourage with the devlopers.

I think you'd have a lot of girls objecting to this direction, in truth. I seem to remember reading a thread on the ME2 board where girls were complaining that fem!Shep wasn't feminine enough, and walked like a dude, without enough sway to the hips, lol. And that her voice was too masculine. *g* Truly, it's hard to win here.

I wouldn't mind playing a badass character like this. Of course, something would have to be done about that hair. I wouldn't be caught DED with my hair like that. LOL

Funnily, I find this girl sexy, somehow.

Maybe I should accuse whoever made the picture of sexism because he / she  presents a woman as sex object?

Just joking:)

Nah, it doesn't look stupid, it's incredibly hot. Such armour is usefull against taking male warriors off-guard. And even if she was totally covert, A good thrust of a lance, or a good blow of an axe will go through any mail or plate.

And besides.

I don't really like this either. Why restrict the movement of your knees in favor of exposing the tops of your thighs? Or wearing massive shoulder pads but no protection for your gut? And why would anyone design armor with heels? What if it rains and the field is muddy? LOL

For the girl on the upper picture, maybe. The one below draws too much aggro because she doesn´t look good.

That is the reason why you use the flaccid model for the most time and only switch to the other shortly before a romance cutscene, just like in real life.

Oh  and on the topic with skimpy armor I am fine with it aslong as the male version is equally revealing like in AoC, in that game the male and the female clothes show roughtly the same amount of skin, not like in Warhammer online that made a bikini suddenly morph into an ankle lenght nightgown if you swappped it between a female and male dark elf.

Look at it like that - with high heels, you´re bigger. Maybe the woman on the picture is a few inches too short to be allowed to join the army, and the high heels fix that?:innocent:

Indeed, but in Real Life switching between flaccid and erect does not require you to delete a folder and replace it with another.

Lol, imagine that....

"Darling, do you come in bed now?"
"Give me a second, I need to switch my penis model!!"
"How long will this take?"
"Just a second, only have to copy that folder in my trousers!"

I enjoy the voice acting, I just think we could forego using regular actors. I mean, it did not make one iota difference to me that Flemeth was voiced by Captain Janeway. I'd rather the money go to the writers, so they can write more dialogue and story.

I don't think I would hold ME2 up as a sign that increased cinematics increases sales. I think the improved marketing of ME2, the better reviews, and the increased emphasis on the shooter aspects and improved fighting increased sales. After all, ME2 hasn't done any better than DAO. I would argue, instead, that if ME2 hadn't gutted its traditional RPG elements, and was able to give us a shooter (with cinematics) with DAO (or witcher) -level RPG story elements in equal measure, it would have increased sales by a large margin. It would have done what it should have done: captured the shooter PLUS RPG market, instead of just substituting out segments and ending with a marginal (almost negligible) bump in market share.

After all, if ME2 --a dual genre game -- didn't DOUBLE sales over DAO -- a single genre game -- what was the purpose, other than to *substitute* out customers? It could be argued that BW is making the mistake of a lifetime by developing DA2 in the ME2 mold, if there aren't enough new fans to replace the ones that will defect. There isn't a secondary category in play to indemnify BW against that potentiality as was the case with ME. Now, if they changed DA2 into a hybrid RPG/Action/Adventure a la Assassin's Creed...god forbid, LOL

Besides armor I can't wait to see what the mages robes look like. I wonder if they will be the same for male and females or if like in DAO the male mage robes are full length robes and the females are short skirts. I hope we get a greater variety of mage robes compared to DAO.

Tali isn´t nude, though. You never see skin, so you can imagine a sight you enjoy.

Doesn't make sense. At all. Unless it's an absurd comedy and main hero is wielding a pie and a piece of HOLY toilet paper which vanquishes all evil by it's sheer smell of divine poop.
Armor actually makes a difference with not-so-good blows. A swing of sword that barely touched your stomach may just leave a scratch on the plate, or it may gut you.

In real life, yes. In an RPG, not. Remember, a medikit and 2 minutes out of combat regeneration and you´re BACK IN THE GAME!. Even if you were dead (= portrait changed to a bloody skull). Otherwise, you can even spare the medikit.
