Excuses; if you have the choice to play as a female in DAO of course you can play as a female in DA2. So again Common Sense.
If you have the choice to play as an elf in DAO then of course you can play as an elf in DA2.

Hmm to those people who did not know you could play as a femaleLadybright wrote...
Well, I care. I've run into a bunch of people who didn't know that you could play a female Shepard in ME. There has already been a fair bit of confusion from some over whether or not you can play a female Hawke. Besides, it'd be nice to represented in marketing even just a tiny bit.
Basically, I think there should be acknowledgment of LadyHawke to quell confusion over gender options.
That's very unfair--you hardly see it mentioned outside of these forums. Honestly, I came here in fear that I would read Hawke would only be male, since left and right Hawke's referred to as only a "he", with no mention to customizable gender; yet plenty to class.

I DON´T understand it. If BoWare´s marketing is targetted towards men they should show Female Hawke as really hot girl.

LOL. Wouldn't that ****** off female gamers even more ? :innocent:
Why would they not allow people to play as females would they want to alienate some of their fan base?_Loc_N_lol_ wrote...

I know, that was my point, your logic falls apart in this case.

Yeah, that's what I thought at first too. A sort of "Mediterranean" look. I dig it.
Why is that offensive? Most girls I´ve seen in my life LOVE to show skin. Even the ones where I wish they´d show less. Imo, it would add realism if default Female Hawke and most female NPCs look slu7ty.Saibh wrote...
Well, she's going to be a really hot girl anyway. The offensive thing is if all of her armor magically shrinks.
Unfortunately, being a guy who stares at an ass all day is still a major part of DAO gameplay (unless you´re female, of course, in which case you´re not so much of a guy:police:) It is just one of many reasons why I dislike playing male characters. The point of DA is to play a character you control, a veritable badass in most cases. It's not, say, Tomb Raider or Bayonetta, where the point is to be a guy who stares at a latex-clad ass all day.
IMO it's not fear just unwarrented Anxiety.Saibh wrote...

The point we're making is that it's not a given, since many other things are changed and appealing to women isn't the gaming industry's top priority--yes, I would be utterly shocked if BioWare did away with playing as a female, but since you see no mention of it, yet see more trivial details all over the place, I can understand the fear.

Um...because armor is supposed to be a practical form of protection, not a metal bustier? Because women are being objectified for the sake of male lust?
How sexist to think women "LOVE" to show skin. Some women do, if they want that kind of attraction. Many do not. It does not even remotely add any type of realism. You look in a crowded room full of women of various ages, social class, race, and what not and tell me how many of them are half-naked.

Ooooh yeah, I remember this from when Twilight Princess was coming out and everyone speculated that Zelda would turn into a hawk or eagle, since Link was turning into a wolf.
I never said I liked it. In fact, I almost vomit when i see mods introducing such armor in DAO and I always put my female chars in the heaviest armor available. Nevertheless, such is how it is.Saibh wrote...

I hope I can create the same Mediterranean look for my FemHawke. I really like the look of the default male. Those cheekbones! And oddly enough I like the beard, too, though that's usually not my thing.
