Do you think there'll be horses in the game? I sure hope so

They will be mentioned as an easter egg for sure. Just to make fun out of us.

What's the point?
With the areas as big as they were in Origins, you would have to dismount before you even mounted up... And then there is the mechanics of mounted combat... Bioware isn't exactly known for pushing the bar, technically. (They just have good writers for the stories they tell.)

Although it's kind of sad when an indie game like Mount&Blade can do it and a AAA title can't.

We already know they are not putting horses into the games.

I'm sure if they ever decide, "Yes, we will have mounts and mounted combat in *insert future DA title here*", they'd let us know IMMEDIATELY.

What would be the point of horses?

If they use the same travel system then the only time I can see us using them is in a level designed for that use. Like a race as one of competitions to become champion.

As far we know, no horses for us.

They are too expensive to make into the game. BUT you can be certain they will be mentioned in some obscure codex entry :P

As much as I would love horses I just don't see how they would fit in to the world and combat without being cumbersome. I haven't gotten the impression that DA2 is going to be an open world like Oblivion was. If that were the case horses would be awesome, especially if they implemented Mount and Blade style combat. But if it's going to be all map travel and area transitions I think horses would just get in the way. You never really had much space for a given battle in DA:O.

No, I agree: the areas aren't large enough to warrant horses. There's no point, especially because all three of my companions will need one, and that's just garish.

as far as we know, maybe there are no horses in thedas, or any other type of mountable animal. Dwarves can mount mabaris and nugs but that's all.

No, seriously, give us horses. Only in cutscenes, or standing still in villages, but let us see them.

maybe there was an ancient war between horses and griffons and they annihilated each other.

There's horses in DA:O I remember a dalish elf going on about the Halaa(the deer thing) and said that they were treated better then how the humans treat horses.

maybe the maker is a horse with a cloak and a spear. those things can't exist in the material world, as it would be blasphemy

Horses are the female aliens of Dragon Age.

What makes you think you haven't seen one yet?

I think the assumed reason is that the Orlesians really love their horses--with the mounted Chevalier and all--and therefore the Fereldans really don't.

This reminds me of how David Gaider once wanted a pony, and the fans accommodated him. Somebody ought to whip up a pony model, to give back to the fans...
