Do you think there'll be horses in the game? I sure hope so

Well, the closest thing to horses that were mentioned were griffons, but they went extinct 200 years prior to DA:O.
King Maric was quoted in saying "I fall off horses, that's what I do". But that's it for horses other than Oghren's toy horse.
So yeah I don't think we're going to get horses.  We have Assassin's Creed or Red Dead Redemption for that.  <_<

Horses are mentioned several times in regards to Orlesians.

There's not a lot of open exploration in Dragon Age. Even if there's an open area there's often a box or a stick or a piece of fuzz blocking your path that keeps you from walking too crazily away from the objective. So a horse doesn't really get you much practically speaking in a Bioware game. If they ever decided to open things up and have big forests and such that you have to hunt through (like in Oblivion) then, yeah, horses would start to make sense. I'm not anti-horse. Horses are cool. I just think they're not as high up on the priority list as other things given the way Bioware structures things.

Sigh, why can't Bioware just license a good engine for Dragon Age 2?
Just imagine how awesome of a game it would be if it were a bit more open...
It can be done: Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry 2, etc, etc.
Or even better just think how amazing it would look on the new CryEngine3 (which is cross platform and allows for simultaneous development for pc, ps3 and 360).

I just don't get why they have no problem with licensing Unreal 3 for the Mass Effect franchise, but are going the cheap ass way with Dragon Age. (Even Unreal 3 is preferable to their Eclipse engine).

People saying what's the point of horses in this game should ask what's the point of pet dogs in this game. Thing is, if you can use pet dogs in combat then imagine combat being mounted on a horse. It's as simple and epic as that.

The most basic move would then be to mow down the enemies in your path. No wonder Cailan lost his war using dogs. Also, horses can make for memorable companions as well.

That's like asking why would you want a horse if you could have a pterodactyl. There's a very specific reason you can't. Guess.

I wouldn't like to ride them probably, but i would like them to be present at the game...you know...it doesn't make sense that we don't see ONE horse in DAO.

DAO2: fereldans have been having a horse shortage since after the Orlesian Ocupation.

Ever like the Anheiser Busch Clydesdale (Pony-horse with hairy feet)! It would be cool to adds the movie theatre in DA2, plus have movie theatre from DA:O unlocks for DA2! I loves those strongest horses in the World! Posted Image

Chimera. Horses and Griffons are small time. Chimera are fire breathing lions with snakes for tails and goats coming out of their chests.

Going completely off topic for a second: What is it with mages and facial hair?
