Going completely off topic for a second: What is it with mages and facial hair?
Dunno, ask the devs, according to them they animated the beard

Chimera. Horses and Griffons are small time. Chimera are fire breathing lions with snakes for tails and goats coming out of their chests.
maybe, but before adding griffons nad such shouldn't Bioware do something like, um, test things with adding atleast horses?

I just want a Chimera boss fight. It would be glorious.

Keep horses out, I do not want to worry about my character accidentally stepping on road apples all the time.

Bioware games aren't known for their big enviroments thus rendering mounts rather useless, that said however they should be included from aesthetic purposes like in cutscenes or apart of the background.

Yeah, but if they do that it begs the question why you can't have one. Even if you can't really use it, it doesn't make sense for Hawke who traverses all over Ferelden to not have horses. And then if you simply have one in your camp that you can't use that's even more offensive.

having a horse in cutscenes and laying in villages while we walk around would be a good explanation as why we can store 30 swords and 5 armos in our little backpack.
find loot, bring it to the horse, carry it around

Oblivion had horses because it was an Open world game with a lot of areas to explore
Red Dead: Redemption had horses because it was an open world game with a lot of areas to explore
Dragon age DOESN'T have horses because it's NOT an open world game and DOESN'T have a lot of area to explore

Don't you people understand that if Bioware were to include horses, they would include environments where horses could be properly used. It's not an unfounded assumption.Saibh wrote...

What would be the point of horses?
Are you serious?
No, I agree: the areas aren't large enough to warrant horses. There's no point, especially because all three of my companions will need one, and that's just garish.
