What's wrong with oxen? lol, horses would be cool, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if they weren't in.

I personally hate horses and would not like to see anything resembling a horse in Dragon Age 2 unless there is a promise of monthly horse armor packs (500 ms points a pack is very reasonable) to keep your horses stylin with the times

Horses in Oblivion is about the most boring crap in the universe, ever.

I disagree.  Horses in Oblivion were at least more than simple horse-pants that you use in many MMOs.  Of course, once you installed the Akatosh flying dragon mount, horses were a thing a past. ;)

I've never seen the need for horses in any of Bioware's RPGs.The long travel bits are replaced with a loading screen.

Even in Oblivion, I found them more of a hindrance than anything.

That said, I really do need to install Mount & Blade... I got it on Steam a few months ago but never got around to playing it.

the only useful idea with horses would be... Less loading times on your map if you purchase a horse :P get to a destination faster

It would be enough to see them horses in cinematic sequences, AT LEAST.

Alas, I can already hear the answer "can't do, too expensive to animate, better spend the money on spartan-style-battles"

Wouldn't mind them being present, or, at least un-usable by the main character.

But how about if you -could- buy a horse, but it stayed back in camp and was only shown in certain places like cut-scenes or left and the entrances of areas, but otherwise would provide decreased travel time on the map travel screen, much like the car in Fallout 2.
