Obviously she inhabited someone's body, just like Morrigan was afraid of. But I'm wondering what's the explanation for her being alive, when I clearly bashed her brains in with my sword

I think that was already explained in DAO!

That she's not permanently dead... but just her physical manifestation, and only for some time.

I loved the Deep Roads art there. I hope that means the Deep Roads will make a return.

Also, could Flemeth have taken Morrigan's body?

It's possible, but I sincerely hope not. Obviously she found A new body...no way to know whose it was though. I don't think it particularly looks anything like Morrigan, myself.

Is Flemeth a squadmate?

I highly doubt it as we've heard she that appears in her dragon form before our hero so she's probably no less powerful than she was in DA:O.

A dragon squadmate? This pleases me. Make it so Bioware.

Have to say, Flemeth cleans up well, which begs the question if she will still be voiced by Kate Mulgrew?

It'd be hilarous hearing Kate's creaky voice come out of that 20-year-old body...

Now that thats confirmed as Flemeth, I'm wondering if there is an explanation for her younger look or if its just a byproduct of the new art style?

I think it is just the style of that picture.

Considering she's dressed in a Stripperiffic outfit, completely lacking wrinkles, and otherwise looks pretty young, I'd say she inhabited a new body. She appears to be human, considering the pale skin, and lack of pointy ears.

And, wait, what about qunari having horns now?

I doubt she's a squadmate--unless she's treated the same way the Architect and Loghain were--but more like a major player in the plot...possibly a villain.

Image IPBImage IPBI wonder if she's an enemy this time around (like the main one).

Is this GameInformer's new thing for today? Because the hub said they'd return on the sixteenth, but there aren't any wallpapers on that page.

It occurs to me, though, that maybe the "claw-hand" is just because the shot is from the beginning or ending of a shapeshift into/from a dragon form.

The page is there, but they just didn't add the link to the hub yet.  Its annoying, but sometimes, they do that.

She doesn't look very pregnant... That wouldn't just go away.

Anyway, Flemeth is supposed to meet Hawke while the warden is still busy rallying his army pre-landsmeet and Lothering is attacked, and presumably before he possibly slays her. So, come to think of it, it may just be that they redesigned her, like the darkspawn.

No. I thought that guy might have been Shale, until I noticed the horns which could be part of a helmet.

How do you know when Flemeth meets Hawke? I don't recall it being mentioned in the Gameinformer article. It just says that Flemeth swoops down to crush a darkspawn, but that could occur any time.

However, I agree it's more likely that it occurs at Lothering, considering her proximity to the place. The screenshot of her in dragon form clearly had the horn structure and head spike that Flemeth's new human body has, so it might just be that her appearance has been retconned. Then again, maybe she can change herself to appear younger or older, and she was just playing at the old woman act when in the presence of Morrigan and the Warden.

Regarding qunari having horns (from the GI Timeline article)

"Whispers reached the lands of Thedas that strange men had arrived in the northern jungle islands of the Boeric Ocean, tall men with horns and ships that fired thunder. These men called themselves “qunari”, and invaded the mainland in a great wave that took humanity by surprise."

I still think she looks pretty young there...and again, you must consider her outfit.

EDIT: Thanks, Hrungr...it's possible that could have just meant horned helmets? Well, at least horns would explain why the ogres look the way they do. I still hope we don't see a giant qunari appearance retcon, though.

Yeah, I honestly can't see this being a redesign for Flemeth. We knew she was looking for new body and this is it...

Image IPBImage IPBWell, Morrigan explained that, as a shapeshifter, she could not possess more than one human form. However, she couldn't turn into a dragon either, and I suppose it could be an illusion or spell of some kind.

I never heard anything about when (or where) the Flemeth encounter takes place...just that it does. I prefer the idea that she found and took someone's body to the idea that she just got redesigned and artificially made to look younger. Plus it seems like it would be a mess to introduce her before she gets slain by the Warden, only to have her disappear to go get killed then come back. My money's on that being her new body, and just assuming she got killed before she gets introduced.

Anyway, the bad thoughts I was thinking was more like she took Morrigan's body after Morrigan gave birth (again, not knowing when exactly Flemeth is supposed to meet Hawke), or somehow did something with the OGB (not taking the baby's body, of course). I don't know how they'd go about making sense of it, but it would take the OGB out of the picture so future content with Morrigan wouldn't be affected by the possibility that someone didn't do the ritual. Eh, I was trying to make it all go away by this point, before getting to the point of it making sense. :)

It could be as Hawke and his sis are fleeing Lothering- if you look at one of the GI screens you can see smoke billowing in the distance- Lothering burning maybe?

I'd hate it if her look in the concept art is just a retcon due to the visual style though- that sort of thing really bugs me. Anyway, here is another concept art from Matt Rhodes' deviantart- its a slightly older looking and more detailed version of Flemeth minus the dragon morphing claw:

This is true, but I'd actually prefer to have Kate Mulgrew again. The shock of hearing that voice from this body would be very creepy (in a good way).

Everyone keeps mentioning the Qunari and the horns, has anyone thought that perhaps the horns mentioned in the article were referring to the instrument? Perhaps Qunari are fond of horn signals in war.

The Game Informer DA2 hub page still says "We Return 7/16" for me, but I'm thinking they just haven't updated it yet to coincide with the Desktop Wallpapers they released earlier....unless they have something else planned too?

Hopefully they have more. This is disappointing (mostly because I can't use them).
