Looks like ancient art of a dragon having a nervous breakdown, to me. ;)

It looks vaguely tower-like, I wonder if it's supposed to be Kirkwall's Tower of the Magi...

Hmmm...guess it depends if you're looking at it as though the face is pointing left (and therefore a beak) or facing right (and therefore an open mouth).  I've been seeing it the second way.

The squiggly tail, esp, reminds me more of a dragon than a hawk.

The punchline would be if Flemeth possessed Hawke's mage sister.

Looks like a primitive sketch of the pose of the DA2 archdemon TBH.

Why? Flemeth already had yellow eyes, it doesn't mean that she's using Morrigan's body.

Brand new young body.Has her dragon form back, which looks meaner than ever. I guess she could have gone and posessed whomever, but I don't buy it.

Flemeth's new look is...wierd. I just imagine her as a either an old, completely unattractive women, or a giant murderous dragon. Her new "sexier" redesign is a little creepy to me.

It makes utter sense to me: Flemeth seems to display small signs of vanity, and I can see where, when picking a new body, she'd want a pretty one. It reminds me she's not this dilapidated old kook in the middle of a swamp, but a vicious, centuries-old abomination chessmaster. Her plan is coming to fruition, and here she is to take the crown in a body she wants.

The picture of Flemeth is just concept art by an artist who probably doesnt know she is supposed to be an old crone. I'd wait for an actual screenshot of her..

And I suspect we meet her in Lothering and she helps us escape.. so no, she is still alive and kicking, since the warden hasn't gone back to her hut at that point.

Have to say, Flemeth cleans up well, which begs the question if she will still be voiced by Kate Mulgrew?

Posted ImagePosted ImageI doubt it. She appears to have found a new body which would imply a new set of vocal chords.

This is true, but I'd actually prefer to have Kate Mulgrew again. The shock of hearing that voice from this body would be very creepy (in a good way).

And she did such a good job.

How on earth have 3 hours passed without anyone pointing out how painfully spot on you probably are? It would certainly explain why Flemeth is (maybe?) important to Hawke's story.

Personally i'd kinda like to see Flemeth as a companion. They could easily find a reason for her to only turn into a dragon in cutscenes and never in combat. I mean they did give Anders that whole fire-spell thing when he didn't have any in his skills...

"easily find a reason"? What reason? There is no reason. Flemeth would be a grossly overpowered companion, even without the dragon, since she's centuries old, immortal, and knows ancient, forgotten magics.

You figure if they have Flemeth having had to inhabit a younger body that wasn't primed for her taking over, she would be in a weaker, less powerful state. So if she is a companion, there is your explanation as to why she isn't super powerful.

I'm not sure she'll be a companion, but maybe she'll be like an advisor type role. Then again, it seems she is getting a lot of attention so far in the concept art and being on the Game Informer cover with Hawke.

Centuries old(sure), immortal(her soul, yeah), and knows ancient, forgotten magics(yeah). But Overpowered? I don't think so. Last time my warden killed her she didn't looked so powerfull.
I think she can be a really nice addition to the group.^_^

I hate to say this but I'm not excited by aspects of  the new art style. I really have no standing to say such a thing as clearly the artists have more talent in their little finger than I will ever have. And I know it's early days yet and that things like lighting etc will add polish. But...

...all of the backgrounds just seem to be ... drab and barren.  Lifeless. Soul-less. The stylized flemeth doesn't really work for me either (although the human models/faces shown in the screenshots were very nice IMO).

I dunno what to think really. I never had an issue with the graphics/art style of DA:O. Personally I loved them. But I'm now edging towards an uneasy state of mind with this aspect of DA2 after seeing these wallpaper offerings and the previous images.

I'm not going to whinge about it....just want the devs to hear my thoughts at this stage of their pr campaign. I hope they show some screenshots etc featuring more lively settings (forests, waterfalls etc) to reassure me that Thedas still has areas of beauty as well as the grim barrens they've shown us thus far.

That said, Bioware will likely blow away my expectations again with DA2 as they did with DA:O so I'm likely just wringing my hands over nothing.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but was it even confirmed in DAO that Flemeth actually needed to possess another body? In my playthroughs she just laughed at the suggestion and danced away from any concrete answer. Since she is a shapeshifter I think we can assume she can make herself look like anything, at any age.

That.
Flemeth spent all of Morrigan's life priming her to be a suitable host. If she had to suddenly use some refugee girl who just happens to be magically inclined then she'd have to train the body all over again. This could also be used to prevent her from turning into a dragon outside of cutscenes by claiming some cliche "she needs to build up power" or "turning into a dragon drains her to the brink of death" or some such.
Gaider's a clever guy, don't sell him short on coming up with bizarre reasons for things to make sense.
