Awesome news guys. Although to be honest, I've never had many problems with this game. The only ones that I have noticed were the pickpocketing one, and the nude awakening character import. And, hell, it really shows what you're made of; killing darkspawn in the buff!

What does this mean? Will I finally see Shale at post-cornonation? And what about the "Alistair-is-always-king" glitch?

Just about on schedule, too. I like reliable people.

As in reliable people that get things right first time?  Or don't take half a year to fix some things?  Or don't break things that were at least partially fixed previously?

Personally, I feel 1.04 puts the game into the minimum state it should have been at release.

Looking at the sticky topics in all the technical forums, you can see a number of posts from three months ago, where Bioware likely reached a turning point and started to take a more disciplined approach to bug fixing.  Up until that point, I suspect that Bioware was overwhelmed and likely flustered with the swarm of Origins, Awakening, and DLC bugs that culminated into the  infamous perfect storm known as the1.03 patch.

Yes, Bioware's flailing in the four months after DAO's release might be considered "unforgivable", but I prefer to remember and praise the progress that Bioware made in the last 3 months (when everything seemed hopeless).

I assume the steam patch will be released around the same time?

I daggers were never fixed in the console versions, but were fixed in the PC version.

Given that 1.03 was released for Awakening and had this bug eversince ... it was never patched ... until tomorrow that is ...

you have to ask steam about that. Bioware does not control steam

Victor, you still have not answered whether or not Find Vitals is fixed in this patch. This is a rather simple fix since the existing talent simply references an incorrect effect. I can't for the life of me understand why something like this wouldn't make the bar for 1.04 aside from being overlooked, and it has been mentioned several times. Since you (Victor) do not reply to these threads to answer questions/concerns, it has continued to be unanswered. I ask now if this issue has been fixed in 1.04.

Thanks Victor! Once I'm patched, I'll take another PC into Awakenings to see how things work. Woot!

Do you guys care to tell us what exactly these 'technical limitations' you keep mentioning are specifically?
And since some things 'can't be fixed at this time', then what time will they be fixed or atleast attempted to be fixed?

And what about Jowan's Intention quest?

Since he mentioned specifically consoles, if I am not mistaken, patches have a size limit that MS and Sony have put on them.  Be it for bandwidth or who knows what else.  I am thinking, and I could be wrong. That the patch size was large enough with what it fixes now that to go larger, that possibly they would have to charge for it, as MS and Sony may look at it as DLC size, and not just a patch, since when a PS3 loads a game any updates whether signed into the PSN or not is forced through before loading the game. I am not sure this is the same on the 360.

I am hoping it isn't a code conflict thatkeeps them from fixing the bugs they could not address at this time, and that if we are lucky we will have another patch in the future. As some of these issues were the longest running and some of the more pure game breaking issues.

And I'll call a July 27th date for the console patch.

So Alistair is still king bug is still there, warden commanders armor is still bugged, the PC owners fixed the armor skins and blackblade armor but Bioware can't? No offense Victor but this is horsesh*t.

As a 360 user, I can say that updates on games have to be downloaded in order to play them as well, so long as you're signed into LIVE.  Offline, of course, you can play all you want sans update.  I'm still on the basic game myself, since I bought the game after 1.03 came out.  Funny thing is, my first character was a HNF dw-rogue, and I didn't have any problems at all until the archdemon fight (largely due to me leaving Wynne and my SH Morrigan back at the gates, running with Alistair/Shale/Leliana, and Leliana was the only one with a ranged weapon).

Looking forward to a quick MS certification so I can finish up my Dalish archer rogue and pick up Awakenings.  And idc what some people are saying, DA2 sounds like it'll be great.

I don't know much about the "Alistair still king" bug since I canonically went that route with all my playthroughs that I kept Alistair in, but as far as the armor goes, apparently the size limitation on console patches are what's keeping that from being addressed with 1.04.  It's not exactly the best outcome that it isn't being handled with the current patch, but it doesn't look like BW is sitting with their thumbs up their asses about it.

But now, i can play DA more time before any crash, so, they did a good work for this patch and even better because the expansion have fixed the quest , could still have a bug on the conversation but the quest are working properly now...

However, i have only a week before begin to ask for the 1.05 patch

I love you, guys! Now I can replay the castless dwarf origin and steal all money and things from guards and nobles! It always gives my dwarf satisfaction!

And I can finally achieve the happy-end in Awakening, hooray!  :wizard:
