No, that's not what Victor said. The PC patch is coming on Monday. No date yet for the console patches:

(Awakening) Silverite Mine Issues
Some players have experienced a situation where it is possible to enter the Silverite Mine in the Wending Wood early by picking the lock to the door (despite the lock initially appearing to be impossible to pick) prior to completing the quest with Velanna. Due to technical limitations, we will be unable to patch this issue and as such we wish to communicate to players to avoid this situation.
Entering the Silverite Mine early may result in loss of some inventory as well as broken plot flags due to prior quests not being completed properly. Normally, the door will unlock after fully resolving the encounter with Velanna and the player should not attempt to enter the Silverite Mine before then.
I have experienced the bug (PC version) even though I have already resolved the encounter with Velenna.

Expecting to have to wait at least another month, I set up a virtual machine to do a run through Planescape:Torment before picking up DA:O again. Now I have to decide which game to play.

Nah. I don't hate you of course. As far as I can see, the major bugs which stopped me from continuing my first playthrough have been fixed, and the remaining ones such as Silverite Mines can be avoided by just "playing properly and not do any strange things".
I look forward to continuing my playthrough and starting again as a Dalish elven dual-wield / archer fighter or rogue. (No leliana for me, in the second round... and I like that character most of all.)

Daggers are more important, but it's still a shame only longbows work properly.
