No, no confirmation of that being fixed as of yet. However, I can't see that causing a problem with DA2. If we're going with a new main character, then the game will most likely not have a save import feature and the events of who is king/queen and who killed the archdemon will be the same no matter how you played out DA:O.

Already confirmed that we wil lbe able to import our choices from DA:O to DA2, but seriously I want to be able to sometimes have Anora as queen (though I hate her with a passion) and if I can't do that then it's pretty pointless to keep doing further playthroughs in DA:O

I could *swear* I saw something about DA2 that claimed there would be an import, but I can't seem to find it now.  The only thing that's out there that's vaguely official is from GameInformer:
Mark Darrah....asserts that BioWare is working hard to make sure
“fans of the original game retain a sense of satisfaction and
familiarity in the world.” This may simply mean referencing events of
the first game, or it could also mean a Mass Effect 2-style save
transfer is being planned.

EDIT:  DA2 forum threads have more detail, including a note from the GI print issue that appears to confirm:  Your DA:O game save file will be imported (for choices made etc.)

Ok. I hadn't really been keeping up on the release info for DA2, so that's news to me. Good to see that all my work isn't going completely to waste, since I'll probably have about 5 or 6 playthroughs to import by the time it comes out. Depending on the nature of the bug though, the information on our choices may be in our save and the game simply doesn't delineate between them, so DA2 might pick it up just fine. We'll have to wait for word from the devs to find the answer to that though, I suppose.

Additional percent to healing (item property):  Not fixed in 1.04.  Fixed by mods for PC, no workaround for consoles, severity 1 out of 5 (seriously, if it's still broken the way I think it is, I *still*  have never noticed since those sort of details are mostly hidden/have limited precision.)

I'm honestly wondering if anyone has tested these items with an Arcane Warrior; if the item property works as has been stated elsewhere and Arcane Warrior's do benefit from them, I'd have to say that they are working as intended.

I don't think so because it happens in Awakening, no matter what Alisitair is awlays king if this bug keeps happening

I do not mind waiting to get a patch for a lot of the serious issues, but the last statements about not being able to patch some serious Awakening items issues will prevent me from ever getting that aborted fetus of an expansion. Not only was it rushed to completion, its current problems will not be patched?! Due to size limitations of a console patch? Screw that, have it as a "DLC" (like Burnout Paradise's Version 1.9).

Still love you Bioware, but this mishandling has me hoping Mass Effect 2 will not have an expansion, but instead big DLC packs like Fallout 3/Overlord.

They may have DLC add-on fixes for Awakenings and other stuff later on, but I assume they would wait until this patch is out and commented on by the community before proceeding. If this patch doesn't do all it's supposed to, then they'd just have to stop and backtrack again.

I never played Overlord, but aren't all 5 of Fallout 3's DLCs technically expansions?

This patch is a good start, but there are still a lot of things that need fixing. Hopefully this is a new attitude being shown and them learning from their mistakes, and more patches and news of them will be coming in the near future. It was nice to get weekly updates instead of months of silence with the only communication being about dlc.

Agreed, the weekly updates were great.  I hope they will also let us know what their future patching plans are.

I love your optimism, but I think further patches are rather unlikely due to the amount of effort they've put into apologizing for issues that are 'unfixable' under current circumstances.  It is far more likely that resources will be directed toward DA2 development and testing.  I could be wrong, but what would you prefer they work on?  The DA2 release date won't likely be delayed to make it more stable and they've botched the DA support badly enough that further investments don't make much sense when they have a new product on the line.

You care so little, in fact, that you need to make sure total strangers know your opinion. :) On the one hand, sure, it's just a game. On the other hand, if making games is your sole business, then the quality and support of your games is more than a little relevant.

Thanks for the update, Victor. Here's hoping that the patch works as intended.

Am I to take it that the Vigilance Sword is fixed on the PC? The phrasing of that part leaves me a little confused.

I'm going to write a little long post.

I think you've slightly mis-interpreted what I meant by I don't care.  I do care about the game, it's the first one I've bothered to plat on the PS3.  I am concerned about bug issues.  I don't, however, wish to keep reading a bunch of ingrates moan and complain about every little thing constantly.  I've seen the time and effort my kid brother has had to put in to some of his work (he is also a programmer) and how, as has been previously mentioned, one tiny typo can affect everything.

That last I don't care was purely a case of say what you want about me, take all the swings you want, it will not make any difference to my life.  My apologies for allowing my 72 hrs of work in the 84 hours previous to my post altering my quality of writing.

So, we have to wait for the console version to pass first? I'm not quite sure what the console version has to do with the pc...but okay.

No, that's not what Victor said. The PC patch is coming on Monday. No date yet for the console patches:

Victor Wachter wrote...The PC patch version of the patch is
complete (yay!) ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png and we
are preparing to release it on Monday, July 19. Once the Xbox 360 and
PS3 versions have passed certification, we will announce their release
date.

Oh, okay. Fair enough.  Well I'm happy that we'll be getting very soon then.

Dragon Age: Origins Fixes
•    Fixed an issue that would cause incorrect characters to occasionally appear in Morrigan's ritual.

You know, I am now kind of sorry I never saw this bug, as I imagine the comedy potential would be enormous depending on who appeared. I'm now curious to know who Morrigan was accidentally having sex with. Was Loghain impregnating her FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE?

The female player would have sex with Morrigan, impregnating her with dead Alistair's baby, if I recall correctly.

That actually could be funny. We possess Alistiar to impregnate Morrigan. Quick call the chantry, evil magic is at work.

Or they "gasp" "shock" return to working on patches for the first game after the 2nd game is released, so they have patch teams for DA, DA2 and ME2. It wouldn't make sense to leave a buggy introduction to there next big game.

To be honest, that is not all about the matter of loyalty, of course it also is, but I thought this is the best, too.
For me it is most important that I don't know at all what the next game needs, which game companies and other companies here seem to naturally know. And also I have to say it tooks me several hours to read the Chanter's board. My English ability is still that awful.

I hate to say this but, I thought, Bioware discribed what was going on truely luscious, beautiful, sure, but sometimes I had a doubt, a little of course, but was serious eventually, that if Bioware sees or even values the reasons behind events. There would be the matter whether the reasons should be exhibited or not, but I'd be doubtful sometimes if I was a player, also without reasons there hardly be the other reasonable options, and regardless of those, the reason exists. It could give a story a world. Might be a trash, though.
If DA2 story goes around the events, I thought, the reasons are the first what they would need. Might be wrong, of couese.
And for me, telling some reasons to someone skilled at pulling out it, and I owe too, seems adequately easy. True, not easy than I thought, because of whatever, I'm sorry, really.

Now I have read the board, I really felt I have to do my best, as I have so far, to be fastest and responsive for unknown... being not sure what I could...

I'm treating the first game as an introduction to the 2nd game in my above post.

Justice told me the Architect is a foe.
If the Vigil's keep was safe, even Grey Warden might not be able to persuade.

I've never noticed the introduction the Bioware did as buggy, it seemed rational consequence. I'm sorry.
I owe something irrational, might be irrationally.

Either be happy there is a patch or drop the game.

I have.  However, I am still an avid PC gamer and I monitor the situation with DA. It was a big seller, and the post launch situation with DA may or may not be typical, going forward.  I call it research.

Well, I'll be happy when I have the patch if it does what it's supposed to and if it doesn't introduce new bugs like, say, patch 1.03 did.
