Can someone explain to me (may be a n00b question) why there are mods made by users to fix these problems that Bioware can't/aren't allowed to fix through a patch for console users like myself?

Because there is a toolset for DA that PC user can use to create new content for DA; some modders chose to use it to fix things that Bioware should fix, instead of creating new content.

pc user are not hamstringed by contracts and/or certifcation that insure that a patch, fix or mod is not going to fry a something ( they get covered by their insurance)created mods.

I'm going to guess it'll be released based on the time zone BW is based in. I'll also assume it'll be at some time during the 'normal work day', i.e. 9am-5pm.

However, I'm on 360, so I'll probably have to add 1-2 weeks to my wait time. Here's to hoping that this patch delivers on what page 1 says it will.

I got the patch on X-box live USA early this morning. So far it has worked just fine. I am playing Awakening not Origins though.

Indeed.  Though I'll still wait until I hear more info about it before I install it myself.  The vanilla game I'm running atm seems better than 1.03, but the fixes mentioned would really make it a more enjoyable game.

It;s working as intended on Awakening. I imported a level 6 character from Origins and just like they said you start the game now tricked out with appriately leveled gear.

Well it probably comes down to a few things mainly (1) there is no money in bug fixing and (2) limited resources (read as money, time, developers, etc.). Bioware can fix every problem if they throw enough money and developers at it, they just aren't (which isn't their fault that is just how businesses are). Cheers.

Will 1.04 include all the crap introduced in 1.03 as well?

In other words if I install 1.04, am I also installing 1.03 ??
