ya. There is a possibility that the Elves are the First children of the creators.... Then came men. Fade spirits could be simply a collective conscious projection of living beings...They are named after human emotions afterall....
@iTomes: Do you know about Shah Wyrd? He is a clue I think..

The Demon in the circle? Or that spirit in Denerim? I haven't fought the one in Denerim yet but still I would like to hear your theory(s).

The Maker is Fen'Harel tricking the humans into toppling Tevinter and rescuing the elves.AlexXIV wrote...
Well some things I don't understand then. The elves worship the Creators, the humans the Maker. If the Golden City was Arlathan, then the Maker was ... an elf? Or was one of the Creators also the Maker? And why should humans worship an elf or elven god? And if the elven city would have been attacked in the real world with powerful magic, wouldn't that also have had an effect on the Arlathan in the Fade? Seeing how actions in the Fade can have consequences in the mortal world and vice versa.
C'mon, it totally makes perfect sense.

That would mean that Chantry, which considers the Fade spirits as the first children, is a bit mistaken... Read their version of first children with spirits replaced by elves and it still makes sense...!

If it is permanently Blighted, then could it possibly be an entrance/exit to the Black City?David Gaider wrote...
Interesting theories.
The only thing I'll say is that the Silent Plains are where the climactic battle of the First Blight took place-- they've remained tainted ever since, a permanently blighted place. So if you're assuming the Silent Plains are perhaps like that because of Arlathan, you would be incorrect.
No, it is the secondary exit of The Island.

To me, this does not confirm that Arlathan was not located in the Silent Plains. In fact, some could argue that this would make sense in terms of some of SirShreks theories. If Arlathan is the source of the darkspawn, and Arlathan is located underneath the Silent Plains, then perhaps that is why the climactic battle of the First Blight took place there, which resulted in the Silent Plains becoming permanently tainted.

I don't know how everything fits together, but it seems to me that Arlathan definitely ties into the whole Golden City/Black City tale. And there seems to be certain commonalities between the elven pantheon of gods along with the Old Gods.
One thing I might add is that I 'm thinking Flemeth ties into all of this. Flemeth is a unique abomination who is essentially immortal and can seemingly see into the future. Combine that with her dragon shapeshifting abilities and her tasking Morrigan to bear a child with the soul of an Old God. Whatever Flemeth has brewing it probably has its roots in some of the big events of the past, like the sinking of Arlathan or the tainting of the Golden City.

As for Flemeth I doubt it, Flemeth's only activity has been in the Korcari Wilds far away from Arlathan Forest and Silent Plains.

Maybe but the Elven pantheon has more deities than the old gods no? Atleast I assume they do.

The Forgotten Ones, deities of destruction in Elven theology are not numbered exactly.. though names of three of them are given......

Arlathan was not sunk under the sea, i remember a conversation with the disciple of the elves leader in the brecilian forest, and she said that Arlathan was sunk underground deep beneath the rock... or something like that, but i remember the words underground and rock, so no sea...Avaflame wrote...
Uhh.. Arlathan can't have been the ACTUAL centre of the world, because the world is round. Unless the Dragon Age universe is different in that respect, though I think not.
Edit: So I would have to agree with the 'centre of the world' in regards to society/culture revolving around it. Sunk into the sea is an intriguing concept.
The Silent Plains though just seem too coincidental, also. I guess we'll find out when we find out. IF we ever find out.

I've just thought about the elven mythology and that elven wolf Fen'Harel, who tricked both the elven gods and the Forgotten Ones (enemies of the elven gods). Its story says that he managed to seal the elven gods in heaven and the forgotten ones in the earth. Well what if the forgotten ones were the old gods trapped underground and the elven gods were trapped on the black city of the fade. I also remember reading that the elves didn't remember the name of the forgotten ones but that these dark gods whispered them in dreams, like the old gods did with the tevinter imperium mages, it's possible isn't it?
I would SERIOUSLY like to know who did this whispering in elven dreams.... Did the Forgotten Ones themselves whisper Why did they not shout? Perhaps they were smokers (dragons=smoke) and got throat cancer? If Mr gaider would be kind enough to tell us...
