Yes there should be a way to hide the helm.

I dunno. I'd rather not see the helms, but I can't honestly say that I "hate" it.

I give this Idea a thumbs up! I generally dislike most helms, and the mage helms are generally very.. odd looking.. I've only found one or two that are passable.

Oh God yes please, the mage caps look flat-out ridiculous. Did a bunch of people actually sit down together in a room and decide that a cloth condom with a feather sticking out the top was the ideal way to showcase the mage-player's painstakingly created in-game avatar?

:( unfortunatly  it looks like they actually did some research and attempted to make a cloth cowl that was stylized off some that were worn during the medievel time period

I don't mind the actual helmets, but the conehead mage hats make me wince every time I see them. Gawd.

Helm off would be great - like in all the MMO's out there. I like looking at the face I created, not an ugly hat hiding it all.

I understand this is a game and all, but isn't that part of the "role-playing" in a RPG? If you want to protect your face, you need to cover it. Yes, you can't see your face, but that makes sense doesn't it?

If it's a matter of looks... well this could be extended to many, many other things besides helmets and where would it stop? Toggle to wear only your under-garments, but receive full stats?

I know people want the best of both worlds, but still... :)

Slippery slope != valid argument.  :P

Anyways, the line is arbitrary, yes, but helms seem like a sensable spot.

It makes sense to take off your helm when you're not in combat.  The
damn thing is stuffy, restricts your hearing and perhiperal vision, and
looks hideous.  If instead of just toggling off during cutscenes, you
could set it to toggle off anytime you're not in combat mode, but
toggle on whenever you draw your weapons, that would be ideal.

This.

Even with a tank build I'm not wearing a helmet.

I would definitely like to see a Hide Helm option.
