With all the problems/bugs on the 360, and basically no support in fixing them from BioWare, what really concerns me if I should buy DA2 on PC or continue on 360 or just not buy the game at all.
If we can expect the same support DA:O had on the XBox 360 for DA2 then i'm probally just going to switch off console completely and go PC or might not even buy it.
Honestly, this is jsut damn ridiculous, every time I play DA:O I am so hung up on the corrupted save files that I complete a damn playthrough which takes longer than a week maybe 2 whereas before I coudl've completed one in around 2-3 days.
Anyways I want your guys' opinions, is it worth it to buy DA2 for the 360?

Depends on your PC I would say. I've bought everything game related to Dragon Age for my 360. Bugs can be annoying, but bearable for the most part. I am tempted to get the PC version though as I think my PC can handle it (just). That's because with the PC version there's so much we as console owners miss out on: specifically I'm thinking mods. Depending on the spec requirements I would go for PC. A friend of mine will say PC without a doubt as well.

We barely know anything about the game yet.

True. But there are more issues than just the content released. Consoles are confined whereas the PC is more open. Bug fixes may be made by fans if they have the knowledge. That is something we as console owners won't get. My point above isn't related to Dragon Age 2 game per se; it's a general observation which you may disagree with as is your right to.

I do see the advantage of going pc( mods and whatnot), but you would also git the fan made glitchs(if any :) ) content-pc, graphics-console. if you have a pc which has the same or better graphics(which the that pc probably cost five times more lol) go pc.

Yeah, the drawback of PC gaming. The need of power.

After seeing what happened with this game, I'd go for pc, at least the modders don't take nine months to fix the game. Plus some of the mods people can make are very nice, if you have a good enough pc to run it, I'd go with that. I'm going to wait and see with DA2 though, I worry that they will go the ME2 route with it and try to "mainstream" it and turn it into more of an action game than a rpg, hopefully I'll have enough to buy my new pc by then.

I have Portal on PC and Xbox. My cheap $75 nVidia 9600GT video card makes Portal look way better than the Xbox. Not sure if it is powerful enough for DAO. I have DAO on the Xbox and I think I'd rather have the PC version for some of the cool mods like respecing. It sucks being stuck with skills that are useless.

i really refuse to buy a bioware game after ME3. and ME3 is nly to finish the story. im sick of the money scams, epic game crashing bugs and glitches, constant freezing in ALL Bioware games, etc. they really need to step up there game. I agree with many that story is a little more important than actual gameplay, but if the gameplay is crashing constantly or buggy, theres a problem.

I agree on the respeccing, because some characters start with talents which don't make a great deal of sense; and I wish I could move that to build the character how I would want without being penalised. Oh well, such are the limitations of console gaming...

To me, it depends on how the game interacts with the first game. If DA2 doesn't rely at all on choices made, characters, etc. in the first game, I'll get the PC version. If it does, I'll get the 360 version because that version (I have both the 360 and PC versions) has the character I've put the most work in and if I can continue his story in DA2, that's what I'll do.

Bioware does the best they can. I have all their games on the xbox and the 360. Sure they have bugs, but most games on CD/DVD based media have bugs. If a bug comes up, and I hardly ever get them, I just go oh ok and then resume playing. The worst bug I ever saw was in KOTOR when something would glitch and turn all my guys on the hawk into wookies. I thought it was pretty funny.

Anyway, I have beat DAO on my 360 three times now, and never have I seen a game breaking glitch.

this is wierd - I've played DAO on my 360 nearly ten times now, and only had one serious bug which was eventually sorted out (losing all my character specializations). Am I special?

Maybe?

I've never encountered a game breaking bug. Annoying ones I've encountered plenty, so I count myself lucky. It's enough to want to try the PC version for me, plus the incentive of mods. As for decisions being imported. I always start a default game to see what the writers had in mind, and where they were taking the story. I've completed Mass Effect several times and just started Mass Effects 2 without importing to see.

Besides,I'd be crazy enough to go back to Origins to create my characters and then import their decisions into DA2. Go figure.

The problem with XBOX 360 games is that once you release the product....that's it. PS3 games get updates, as do PC games. And honestly, you gotta keep in mind that when these people QA/QC these games before they release them...they are run on fine tuned, power house machines. Even not having enough processing power, or voltage can cause a game to crash randomly for various reasons. Just because the game starts up and you can play it, doesn't mean your machine can handle it.

9 times outta 10 I NEVER experience a single one of the bugs, even minor ones that people mention having. This is not due to luck, it's do to pride in my machine and time spent making it as finely tuned as possible. A computer is a machine, just like with a car...and just like a car, if you put time and effort into maintainence and fine tuning you will recieve better gas mileage for example or improved horsepower.

The only errors I usually experience are purely compatability issues such as loading up an old game to a newer operating system, but since Windows 7 is out now that will very very rarely be an issue.

I'm deployed over overseas and I STILL find time to tune/tweak my laptop daily. These systems will never be perfect, so your wishes and hopes that you can just pop a game in and never have an issue is just unfounded. And if you find a game that you play a lot, of course your gonna experience those same bugs more often.

And before I hear anything outta the Mac users, games crash just as much if not more on Mac's and yes, they need to be fine tuned as much as any PC if not more so. Mac's are not superior, just accept it.

*steps down off of soap box*

Now as to whether you should get the game? That's a personal choice, and one you have to make for yourself. PC games are cheaper, usually by 10 dollars or more than their console counterparts if that helps your decision any.
