In the screenshots in the GI article, the mage (Bethany, I believe) is shown casting several spells. The spells look as if they're emitting from her hands, though she's holding a staff. One of my favorite things about DA:O was how the spell animations actually included the staff and it ended up looking really cool. I really, really hope they didn't go the NWN2 route and change this in DA2. Hopefully we'll finally be abel to see video footage eventually, but I was curious as to what everybody else thought.
