Imported Games Questions

-Does Awakening import, or just Origins? I wouldn't be particularly upset if it is just Origins, but I am curious and might replay Awakening with all my characters if it does.
-If we don't import a game, will the setup be predetermined, like in ME2, or will we get to somehow chose the state of the world?
-Finally, I had some problems importing from Origins into Awakening. The game didn't recognize my romance with Morigan, even though I kept the ring and did everything I was supposed to, which affected the end game epilogue. If decisions like these impact the DA2 world, I hope the importer will work a little better.

One of the points the GI article covered was that there would be some canon events so people coming to Dragon Age at DA2 won't be totally lost. So they should be set.
You can get the ring from Morrigan without having a "romance" with her. She gives it to any Warden when she gives them the "we're friends, I've never ahd a friend before" speech. The basic tone of Morrigan overall is that you aren't really in a real romance with her (even if your Warden was, she wasn't) So if you're referring to the Dark Ritual/OGB versus dead Warden or Alistair/Loghain there shouldn't be a problem with that part. If you're wondering if somewhere when you hear mention of the events of the Warden in DA:O they will mention him and Morrigan's great love, it's not likely.

That isn't true, at all. Morrigan's gift is given in the same vein as Alistair's rose and Zevran's earring. They're romantic gifts given only to the romance interest--it's given in a different conversation than the "we're friends"/"what do you think about love?" speech.
You must have been playing a bugged game.

Every character I have has the ring. I've only romanced her once. Every. Single. One. Has the ring. Every time.
I'm sorry to break this to you: but you were being used to get the God Baby. I've been used enough times in real life to recognize when it's happening in a game.

Again, you have a bug because this happens to no one else. Whether or not Morrigan is using you is an obvious question you're supposed to ask--there are points on either side and I'm not going to argue with them, since you say you've been used IRL and that's affecting your objectivity.

Awakening doesn't read the Morrigan romance flags correctly- its a known issue. Basically if you got the Sorrow and regret ring epilogue in Origins that means you won't get the Searching for Morrigan epilogue at the end of Awakening. There are ways around it or you could get the Morrigan restoration mod which fixes a bunch of her dialogue as well as this bug.

That's right. My emotions over being used by someone years back totally affects my ability to predict what's happening in a game. <_<

Pretty much--you think you're seeing the signs of something that happened to you years ago, and are seeing this again in Morrigan. You said as much.
Whereas someone with some Genre Savvy might see the deredere way she occasionally reacts to your kindness and love, how she's a complete **** to you if you don't play your cards right, instead of catering to your whims in an effort to conceive a god baby, how she obviously seems to regret leaving you (besides the dialogue and facial cues, the epilogue slides give an obvious answer to that), and so on.
Don't you remember how she says falling in love with you wasn't a part of the plan? Yes, she planned on using you--but she didn't want to use your emotions, she just wanted to use your sense of self-preservation. If sleeping with her made you more likely to conceive a god baby so be it; but falling in love with her and her telling you she's leaving forever isn't so great for her plan. Besides that, why does she stop sleeping with you once you complete her romance? What's the point? She does it because it's too painful for her...if she didn't love you, she could continue to have a casual relationship.

Yeah, I know it is rather odd but I can get obsessive about games and it really bugged me that I didn't get the searching for Morrigan epilogue in Awakenings, as I felt that it would be an appropriate end for my character. I hope if anything like this comes up in DA2 they will double and triple check the import flags, because it really makes a difference to some people.
