I'm sure someone's mentioned it before, but I noticed that in the uploaded wallpapers by GameInformer,  the Title of the one with the sorceress is titled "yyyDA2_Flemeth_(whatever resolution)"

Are there any other 'names' applied to other concept art that we've seen so far?Posted Image

Yeah,
I really want to know if this "new" Flemeth is simply part of the new
visual design on everything or if there is some sort of in-game
explanation? Given that its concept art though, I believe Gaider posted
in a thread saying that the in game model for Flemeth doesn't look quite
as young and hot as the concept art.

Still, I'm curious if this
is just a visual retcon, or what?

She's a
thousand-year-old abomination, a shapeshifter who, according to legend
(and according to the grimoire you give Morrigan) seduces mortal men in
order to get herself more daughters. Her daughters are reputed to be
able to kill men with fear.  She's both a seductress and a hag.
She played up the hag aspect for the Warden, "Oh, never mind me, I'm
just a crazy old bat who saved your life! Go on your quest and take my
daughter with you! I'm sure nothing terrible could come from
that..."  But just because the Warden only saw her as the hag, doesn't
mean that's all she was...

She is certainly lacking wrinkles if that is indeed Flemeth.

Damn good catch! I was hoping that was either flemeth or morrigan reimagined. I'm am most certainly down with her new look.

Oh they have plenty of flexibility with that! Flemeth is all about making herself younger remember she's beyond age.

Most likely the case. I am very interested to see what she looks like in-game now though.

It's possible for Flemeth to exist without a body to possess, as we are not certain about the limits of her power.

For those of you who've played through Awakening, you'll recall that the Baroness was able to assume a form outside the Fade without inhabiting a corpse or body.

Yeah, but she had been feeding on people for 'eons'.  Plus she was a pride demon.

Morrigan was always certainly convinced Flemeth would return, so this shouldn't really be surprising.

However, we require Flemeth to be a party member.  After all, if it's a new host body, she shouldn't have very much power, since that's what Morrigan was for.

Unless dragon lady happens to be Flemeth's other child.

Morrigan was there because Flemeth continued to age, and if Flemeth age too much, she'd become a broken shell of a woman, her body unable to function while her mind and spirit lives on. Morrigan's seems to think that being trained in magic makes the body easier to possess, but I'd be disappointed if Flemeth got majorly nerfed.

It appears that the tiara-looking thing on her head is actually a bodily feature like her dragon arm, considering that the Flemeth Dragon has a similarly shaped protrusion on her forehead.

I wonder if she has an interest in inhabiting your little sister mage.

I pointed out in the other thread.that Flemeth also appears on the full spread of Game Informer.
She is similar to the concept art, but still looks like an old woman.

http://gameinformer....0_Revealed.aspx

I'm guessing the reason for this will be one of these:

1) She lack wrinkles in the concept art because it is stylized.

2) The cover version is her new body after a decade of aging.

3) She appears as an old woman near the begining of the game (Lothering?), then later on in a much younger body.

4) Her physical appearance in DA:2 will be dependent on the actions taken by the Warden in Origins

The Baroness was capable of assuming the form of a pride demon, but not a pride demon originally. In my understanding, she was simply a powerful blood mage.

As for "eons," her feeding span isn't that old. She ruled Blackmarsh during Orlesian occupation, which is relatively recent compared to events such as the previous blights. The demon/spirit Flemeth is far older than the Baroness.

I'm honestly not seeing where you think she looks old. She doesn't, not even remotely. There seems to be a line around her mouth that's caused by shading and a frowny-expression and that's it. Look at her body, look at her outfit, stare at her face and hair. She's young.

Or perhaps it depends on whether Hawke chooses to help her acquire a new body or not.

I guess it could just be me focusing too much on the area around her mouth.
