So with all this change in DA2, does anybody knw the CANNON of DAO, what was the true ending supposed to be??
I don't think the developers ever actually stated outright that there is a "canon ending."

There is a 'default' ending to Origins if you choose not to import a save from that game.

Only that Morrigan is preggers. I assume.
She is pregnant even if the Warden has choosen to sacrifice himself in the final battle? Even if he has romanced Leliana?

She is pregnant if someone goes through with the ritual or if you are male and slept with her at any point in the game.

Yup, even if no one goes through the ritual with her, the canon ending has her mysteriously with child so shes preggo any which way you slice it

Ok, thanks. It's interesting... mind: I've romanced Morrigain in my only complete playthrough and I've made the ritual. So, for me it's working. And I'm not against any canon if it serves to tell a better story and make a better game.
But I understand that many persons who have chosen sacrifice or many female players will not like the choice.
Btw, it will be interesting to see what's the alternative solution for Morrigain's pregnancy. I bet it has something to do with Flemeth death... I never believed Morrigain version even if I've choosen to kill the old hag... never truly believed her even in the dialogue before the ritual. Imho, she was allready pregnant. She has allready achieved her goals...
One advise to the devs: do not involve Alistair in the Canon or you'll be in a lot of trouble

Darkspawn Chronicles is canon, obviously.
Might be cool.

But considering the fact that Alistair still talks about having to be king of ferelden even when I choose Anora, I'm going to assume that that is pretty much default. Not that I mind that particular detail

Morrigan's pregnancy is not canon. If you ever played through without you, Alistair or Loghain having sex with her, then you'd see she is not with child in the end.

Archdemon being dead is canon.
That would be the default story.Koffeegirl wrote...
The Game informer article mentions that there is a canon ending if you do not import your choices.
Sure, but it's too big of a plothook to pass up on. Awakening also seemed to imply the Dark Ritual was canon, and Gaider has been rather evasive when I asked him if this was true.AlexXIV wrote...
There is no canon announced yet. And if I understand Bioware correctly, they are not planning on it.

Also, XD @ Hayllee, you genuinely made me laugh.

I don't think that either Morrigan nor her child will play a major role in DA2 (maybe ind DA3) so there won't be a plot hole as of yet (not in this game). The way I see it though, if the Dark Ritual plays a major role in future games then they will have to canonize it anyway. If I understand it right, if any Grey Warden dies slaying the Archdemon, the soul of the beast will be destroyed, so even if Morrigan is pregnant by that time she would only have a normal child.

Almost, but as she stated the old god soul would be more attracted to the unborn child as it's new vessel rather than the warden's. so if she's pregnant at the time the final blow is struck she gets the OGBAlexXIV wrote...
Well if default save game (for people who don't import an old one) was canon, then the ultimate sacrifice would also be canon (Orlesian Warden in Awakening) and in ME2 it would be canon that Wrex is dead and the Council died. So I think not, is only a way for people to play the game without savegame.
