Hi all,

Finally posting an update! (should mention my nickname at the other forum was Akhoyeh - the other guy working on Knightmare's mod here, as writer.)

Good news too, I've just sent off the last of the plot-related dialog for the 1st installment of RoF to Knightmare.

All the dialog will need a review pass of course: some things will be changed, brushed up or cut out.. But the essential stuff is all done! I don't mind saying that it took quite an effort.

I can say that Knightmare has done an outstanding job on the module! After seeing the awesome amount of work he's put into it, I felt obliged to make as large an effort to provide him with a decent storyline (and dialog) as I were able to muster.

Hopefully my end will live up to expectation, I've no doubt Knightmare's shall.

Now, although the plot-related stuff is done, there is one sizable section of writing left to do, which I am not going to be able to do myself: Subquests.

So consider this a request for additional writers. :) The requirements for subquests are relatively small, so any good writers who would like to contribute, but don't wish to take on any large obligation may find this an attractive place to jump in.

In conclusion, Knightmare is pretty amazingly productive and I am almost done here, so the release of the first installment of this module is not too far off now. :)

Cheers

This project looks amazing. I'm resisting the urge to volunteer myself (I know my own limitations.) Can't wait to play this, though!

Thanks! We don't require people to become "full-time" members of the team. Be a one-time, small scale contributer if that's what fits you (that goes for everybody). The only "requirement" we have is that if you tell us that you are in fact going to do something, please follow through with it. If you're unable to finish for whatever reason, let us know, provide what you do have and somebody else can pick up where you left off.

And on we go with our project here. I've been working on our movie type cut-scenes. Takes a huge amount of time to get them to work right (multple different scenes/locals, lots of scripting, etc.) but overall the process is going well.

MercuryMan continues his search for those interested in helping with Voice Over Acting.

I continue my search for those interested in helping out with any other aspect of the module lol.

Having just seen one early draft of those cutscenes, I can say with authority that they're going to be kickass. :) (already are!)

Thanks there MercuryMan. :)

For those who have access to our Social Group/Project Discussion board, a private link for the cut-scene's YouTube video has been posted there if you wish to check it out.

This is a friendly reminder from your wise (cracking) owl.  Posting to bump specifically is bad, wrong, undesireable, forbidden, verboten, taboo, against the rules of conduct, violates the accord of agreement between forumite and formica table top surfaces, as well as isn't in good form.

Not quite cricket and in chess, considered a "very bad move."

Now, let me tell you how to do it right so I don't have to chew you out again, m'kay?
Put in a simple sentence, like, "Hey man, I asked like 14 days ago, dude.  Are you okay?  How's the project coming?  We're all waiting here with worms on our tongues (that would be baited breath, O. Henry would be proud) to find out when this thing's coming out!?!"

Something like that.  Maybe shorter if you're anyone other than myself, I'm sure.  That way you're not just posting to bump, even though the net result is the same.  Except I don't have to act like a stick in the mud (or other places) moderator and give you a hard time.  Thus, forum operations are smoother and everybody's relatively happier for it.

take care and best regards,
dunniteowl

I've pretty much finished the soundtrack, although having not heard from Knightmare in over 3 mouths I'm beginning to get concerned that this project has been abandoned. I will post something on our project page during the vacation, and Knightmare if your still around please post an update to let us know your alive.

Sorry, I couldn't resist...:D

I don't use to read the builders sections of the forums, but I believe I saw Knightmare in the list of "last replies" in one of those the other day. I don't know if it was something about this module or not, but at least he's alive and in the forums.

Hasn't Knightmare been posting on the forums here?  I thought I've seen posts.

He's probably galloping off with his flaming hoofs and army of orcs and goblins, wreaking havoc on dwarves, elves, and human civilizations.

Harumph!

Looking at his profile page, his last post was six hours ago. I wouldn't worry too much.

Which is good, because I am really looking forward to this project.

I think it's just a case of large projects taking time. Still, I have to say I'm looking forwards to this.

Oh wow, sorry all. Yes I'm still here and still working on things.

Sorry for not replying here, just been a while since I looked in this section of the forums.

Lately I've been working on putting in quests and such. I have the vast majority of areas built and all set up. Things are progressing, though (as usually happens around here) some of the people who offered to help me out with some things have themselves dropped off the earth. Others have made good on their promises, and I give a deep thanks to you all for that.

So, with some of my builders and such going by the wayside, things are once again solely on my own shoulders to continue with the build. That's all fine, just adds to the time it will take to finish things is all.

Also, my wife is pregnant with our first child (its a boy!!!) and is a "high-risk" pregnancy, so dealing with that as well as work has slowed me down a bit. Then of course there is the occasional time where I just needed to take a couple weeks off from building and collect myself.

Fear not though, I'm still plugging away!

Good to know you and your project are still there.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Thanks for the "congrats!" Looking forward to the little guy coming in a couple months! Hopefully my module here is finished long before he's old enough to play it himself lol.
