Try lowering the difficulty setting, or look up a walkthrough.

For me i had a tank aggro it, me myself (rogue) killing off the tentacles, and leliana and morrigan blasting the bloodmother away with arrows and spells.

There's a little rock path to the left and back of the dwarf with nine breasts. Just set your tanks up near the bottom, and have your mages/archers kill it from up high. The tentacles can't get near you, and the darkspawn are a joke, so you probably won't even need a single potion to deal with this boss.

You will need a *beefy* tank to lay infront (Pref an obese version of Alistair doped on darkspawn blood). Distract her many tentacles with Morrigan and Leliana.(Wynne if you lack the stamina) Sten with large sword poking from the rear is optional.

Tip: If you stand far enough away from her, she can't hit you...
*facepalm*
Throw your tank on her and pling her with arrows and spells.

Easy way of doing this is force cage the Brood mother kill tentacles. By the time the last tentacle is dead the force cage is down spank broodmother until tentacles/adds appear then reapply forcecage and repeat until broodmother is dead.

Move back onto the little rock platform where you entered, and hold position with your party there. Equip all with ranged weapons. Keep them out of the pink goop, or you'll regret it. Keep rigid control of your melee characters so they don't get a mind of their own and whip out the swords. Then just shoot away at the Broodmother, ignoring the tentacles (they don't do much damage when you're on the platform). Ignore the darkspawn too-- they really don't do much damage-- but if you must, let your tank free of your evil control while still holding position, and let him/her whack away at the darkspawn while the rest of you shoot at the Broodmother. Then you can mop up everything else in your preferred style once the Broodmother's dead.

Took me a while to suss that the "dwarf with 9 breats" was the broodmother. Got to admit that first time round it took a long time to get past her but there is some good advice above or in some of the other forums.
Just get your tank to beat the breats, or give her a swift kick in the tentacles! Eitherway persevere....

i agree with whats said by the others.
use ranged attacks,.
i stand on the rocky stuff, ignore the tentacles use ranged attacks and spells(blizzard, inferno and/or deathcloud are all good here, your party stands just out of range from it) on her. Kill the darkspawn as they come(i switch rogues and wammos to melee then). it helps to have a mage with some heal. give your bow users ice or fire arrows to speed things up a bit maybe.

All the bosses, except for the dragons are cakewalks. Allllso, I highly suggest doing this as your LAST destination. I was level 22 by the time I reached this large-mammaried beast. So I had lots of power-ups, gear, and 2 specializations. Plus I had the abilities from the DLC Warden's Keep blood potion, which makes a big difference, especially for rogues.

Fight from the back of the room using long range tactics until the heath is way down. Ignore the distractions and concentrate on the main foe, except for the darkspawn.

I never really had a problem with her. I had my party all standing at range. I had my melee characters kill the tentacles and darkspawn and my ranged toons kill the main nasty. Probably not the best way to do it, but it worked for me.

Poison-coat all your weapons beforehand. Have your strongest warrior focus all his/her attacks on mama. Two other decent fighters should focus on all her minions. A healer should heal party members as needed. Remember that poison. All weapon-wielding warriors should know at least basic poison skills, since they can't posion-coat their weapons without it. Throughout the course of a large battle, the poison damage is cumulative, and it really adds up to a lot of hit points taken away from the enemy. I personally recommend putting the points that you would have put into "combat tactics" into posion skills. Even if you don't plan on making any poison, you'll still find enough poisons throughout the game that you'll have enough for the bosses and the harder enemies.
SPOILER: There's actually a secret method to getting past her. Instead of fighting her, ask her out on a date. She just needs some luvin'!

I never understand why people have problems with this boss. Unless they are severaly underleveled or undergeared.

u can kill her easily: spread out, never attack her in melee, once tentacles come out-> spread out, melee kill tentacles and minions

Oh having healing items and/or a mage or tw with healing spells certainly helps any game.
