Romanceable Companions:

Male:
-A leading human male rogue that is basically all of the charm and none of the leading Bioware male human character syndrome (nothing like Carth, Kaiden or even Alistair). Would be cool if he was foreign and had an accent (from the Anderfels, Nevarra or Antiva). Preferably romanceable by both genders, a good example would be similar to Sky from Jade Empire.

-A "dark knight" type human male arcane warrior that is stoic, haunted by past demons (you name the archetype he has it). He basically delves into blood magic and does what he considers to be "necessary evil", including fueling his powers with the blood of fallen enemies...or innocents. He either does it because he believes it serves a greater good OR because he's just evil (like Bishop from Neverwinter Nights). Romanceable by females.

-A non-human character, such as a Qunari, Elf, or Dwarf. I'll let Bioware fill in his details. :)

Female:
-An Orlesian Chevalier with golden blonde hair and blue eyes and is stunningly beautiful. She's basically a paladin that can learn to become a Templar. She's basically the self-righteous type that is a devout of the Chantry but is totally likeable (not annoying). She's basically the "Lady Knight in Shining Armor" and would probably be a sword/shield or two-handed warrior.

-A female elf or dwarf (since Dragon Age basically had no romanceable females besides the flings available in certain plot points of the game). Again I'll let Bioware fill in her details ;)

-Sounds cliche but I'd like another female human mage or rogue, but nothing like Leliana or Morrigan. Maybe the child of a human and an elf (since the union in Thedas always produces humans rather than half-elves), and that despite being human she feels a close connection with elves and is constantly rejected by elves because she's "human".

Other Non-Romanceables:
-A male Dalish warrior that hates humans and is very attractive but will never romance you because you are human (and no persuasion can change that). Yes designed to torment the player :)

-A male Dwarf who does not have drinking problems (no Oghren, no Khelgar (the dwarf from NWN2), none of those etypes).

-A genderless, androgynous character, like a Fade Spirit.

-(insert crazy non-human character that's there to please the ones who want a crazy concoted character).

-A female Qunari

-A female elf or dwarf (that isn't romanceable for whatever reason).

-A createable, customizable golem that you can focus on either speed, magical, or physical abilities (or a combination of both).

got vampires??Image IPB

I'd like to see a warden/ex-warden vampire that uses the blood powers from the DLC Warden's Keep-to prolong his life and then has to feed off others(normal people, wardens, dark spawn, etc.) like a vampire. One of the character quests could be finding a cure for his/her curse(convincing him/her to stop hurting other people).

ehh...but knowing game content included in base releases we probably have a better chance of getting a magic flying unicorn mountImage IPB

I want Hawke's sister to be romance-able so we can watch the media backlash throw the entire thing out of proportion!

First off, I don't know if I posted a few of these before but I don't feel like going fully trough this thread again to find out so here goes...

Oh, and I thought it would be nice to see some character-specific perks in the game so I thought of a few.

- A young (about 18-20 years old) human female double-wielding warrior who's not all right in the head. She's been turtured for yet undisclosed reasons which caused her to snap and go into such a state. Effects include saying weird phrases and singing creepy nursery rhymes and all that, and (this one would be an interesting game mechanic if implemented right) at random times during battle she could either revert to a child-like state and drop into fetal position for some time (thus you losing any control of her) or go into a berserk state (gaining increased damage, endurance and attack speed) till the end of battle. I'd love for her to be romanceable for both genders or at least to be able to form a sibling/parent relationship with her.

- A short, grumpy human male mage who has escaped from the circle when he was younger and took his newbor daughter with him. She was slain by templars years later when she has become a young woman. Due to this, he began to despise the chantry, templars and the circle mages. This had caused him to dabble in the daker arts of magic and making a pact with a desire demon to find a way to resurrect his beloved daughter. His character ability could be using the said demon's powers.

- A bow-wielding female rogue elf noblewoman who had been set up by jealous nobility and imprisoned. A very nice and extremely cheerful person but on a few occasions she can get a bit proud, especially about her being an elf who's a noble. Her character abilty could be her being extremely cheerful (which would raise attack and defense of your whole party).

- A sadistic human male rogue who enjoys dishing out pain. Hell, he lives for it. He even cuts his own flesh for every worthy target he had killed. Is also a torture technitian, and thus a good character to intimidate people with. He can be quite charming if he tries however. His character ability could be quick running (as long as it lasts he moves, attacks quicker and automatically gets backstabs, but his defense is lowered). He could be a possible romance for females.

- A male Dwarf sword & board warrior who used to be a distinguished general. He's very polite and fond of sesquipedalianism (aka using big words). He dislikes nobles however, thinking of them as sissies who are afraid of getting their clothes dirty in a fight. His personal ability could be a battle cry (which could work as a bigger & better version of Origin's war cry).

- A female Nevarran 2-handed warrior who's a dragon hunter. She has a scarred face and a missing eye and a whole lot of determination. Very sarcastic, and a big fan of dark humor. She could have double damage against creatures as her character ability (Tripple against dragons maybe?).

Mein gott! Who would do such a thing and turtur a yong garl?!

Ye gads though, she sounds a like a pain though to play with, I don't really find the notion of losing control of my characters like that the least bit fun. That's probably why I never used Minsc's Berserk ability in Baldur's Gate, it was just a little too irritating having him randomly attacking my party and then having to calm down after every battle.

But as you say, it could be interesting if done right, though, I'd prefer such a thing to occur in conversation only rather than in the field.

I don't remember if I expressed my opinion in this thread already so I apologize if I'm repeating myself:
Male Qunari is the only companion I need. He doesn't even have to be romanceable. I can just imagine he is :)

This. the first thought that crossed my mind when I watched the trailer and saw the new design for the Qunari was " I Want one". <3

Sten was/is my favorite companion in DA:O

If we get one in DA2 ill be dancing an irish jig upside down of Joy (romancable I find it doubtful well get, doesnt stop me from hoping tho)
:o

well Sten is already the Canderous/Wrex of Dragon Age, might as well have him in both games too. still my favorite companion. If there is a plot twist that gives Sten massive horns, i won't judge him differently...

As I said before, I want a love interest, no matter the shape and outlook, who feels like an equal to my hero. I want them to be a challenge to conquer, but not a chore, and I don't want them to break down at some point during their arc and reveal to me that all along they only wanted to be held by someone because their tough exterior hides a frightened little creature.

ie. I want Morrigan or Viconia, without the sob story that they need a man to fix them.

This!

I'd like a romanceable dude for Lady Hawke that is her equal, and who's also an a-hole who gets in her face all the time (sorta like Bishop in NWN2 ^_^). I'm sick of the goody-goody nice guys. Girls need a male equivalent of Morrigan.

On another note... I think I'd also like it if companions developed close friendships, rivalries or romances amongst themselves. This already happens to an extent in these types of games, but it'd be cool if it was expanded even more. Perhaps Hawke could even interfere and manipulate how those relationships come about.

I'll take Alistair and male Hawke as companions...oh wait, companions in DA:O 2?

Well as far as that goes...STEN! Maybe he popped back to Ferelden for more cookies and cakes before heading off to Kirkwall for that little ol' qunari invasion (he did warn about a qunari invasion - maybe he changed his people's minds and they decided to go after Kirkwall instead of Ferelden - hah)! Okay, maybe not. :P

I would like to see a romanceable character that uses Megan Fox as the model. make her a nimble rogue seductress from Rivain who is good at using daggers. Megan would probably do it too, since she is into games and what not.

return characters I would like to see more of Morrigan. I know Witch Hunt DLC is coming but I will assume she won't die there since lead designer Mike Laidlaw hinted in an edition of gameinformer that they aren't done with Morrigan's story yet.

I would like to see a drunken male daelish elf ranger. He started drinking to help build courage for his hunt and eventually turned into a drunktard disgrace chased out by his own people for some scandal involving him eating a Halla and urinating on a statue of one of their gods. That only made him drink even more to drown his sorrows. He could be rather generically elven antisocial when sober but starts acting like Ogren (making passes at the PC if drunk... that was Hillarious! XD)

I would also love it to be a strong female fighter. I always preferred female tanks... I don't know but there's something cool about a lady with a big sword... maybe just me. She could be a gold digging cynical woman who will try to act all sweet and delicate towards all the rich noble NPC's while in camp she gets drunk with the elven companion and sometimes beats him up... She doesn't see Hawke as a prospect for romance since he is a warrior not a noble.

As for LI, I duno, in DA:O I tend to end up with Zevran as a main LI since Mor is a biatch, Liliana is a nutcase and Alastair is either emo or annoying. To me, Zev was the most sane character of the lot... then again... I did play mainly racist elves who would not bow to any human king/god and most definitely never be attracted to no human man/woman.

I want a real Templar companion, as I didn't consider Alistair one. This Templar would be disillusioned with the actions the Chantry have been taking, and for one reason or another, decides to join with Hawke. Preferably middle-aged, male, non-romancible and (naturally) slightly discriminates against mages.

His most important personality trait would be that, unlike most Templars, he believes in doing the right thing over the blindly following the Chantry's every whim (hence his disillusionment with the religious order).

Bethanny!

EDIT: It just hit me...Wouldnt it be too late to add anything we suggest now into the game? Im guessing the last few months are for finetuning and whatnot, not adding new content.

funny, that's the only male pic i choose when creating a baldurs gate character. it's pratically the only one with that general/commander feeling.

I'd like a Golem that'd be like how Shale was supposed to be.

Like, you could just push him into becoming a mindless killing machine, or help him 'become a real boy' so to speak.

I want a companion werewolf and a companion vampire... both of which I could kill while screaming

"DIE FURRY!"

"DIE TEAM EDWARD!"

Of course you can't kill companions in this game, so no werewolves! Just dwarfs. 20 dwarf companions, all named Oghren, and all drunk 24/7.
