A Male Orlesian Chevalier that wishes to have a worthy adversary or rival to duel one day to prove who is the best. He doesn't like to be coup up in the castle all day protecting the empress from unknown trouble instead he likes to go about town looking for those who might be worthy to duel him and also help someone in need especially if that someone so happens to be a lady. If trouble does arise, he is usually the first person who volunteers to solve the situation. He wishes not to use violence but he does understand that there is a place and time where words of persuasion can't douse a fire that has already been lit. He is quick tempered and doesn't have a problem telling you when you happen to be wrong.

That! All over the place! And don't forget the swearing!<3

And he happens to have quite a colorful way with words. (lol)

I hope Hawke's sister stays and isnt just a temp. It would be nice with a family-member in the team.

I'd like to romance the badass gunnery chief giving the newton speech from ME2. Just slap him an armor and make him follow me yelling lessons of space physics to darkspawn.

Well I meant someone like Oghren before Branka.

What I'd like to see would be an elven companion like Evanine in Kevin Chan's
Neverwinter Nights modules

Tales Of Arterra - The Lost

and

Tales Of Arterra - The Awakeming

Neutral female elven swashbuckler rogue who is bezerking almost suicidal
in combat. She'd seriously need anger management but without that
'- hey look here, I'm difficult' attitude from that elven companion in DA A
(no, I haven't forgotten her name).
Romance - it should be extremly hard to earn her trust - so hard that most
would think she isn't romanceable at all:
Approvement only via actions and convo options, no giftts available for her
and no effect for the thoughtful gifts cakes, pranks  or whatever a da2 feastday
gifts / pranks dlc may offer.
Only chance to romance her would be by passing her companion quest
after earning her trust.

a Qunari or 2 (including a female, just because i want to see what they look like), a Awakened Darkspawn (Disciple), a Werewolf (remember Zatharian's wasn't the only pack of them), Zevran (isn't impossible, i found him rather amusing), Oghren (it likely won't happen, but i can hope right?), another Golem (mindless or no), maybe a demon of sorts, i heard Flemeth may (that would be funny, i personally was found of her insane comments, she reminded me of myself a little bit), characters that are out of the ordinary.

I would be happy if Flemeth was a companion, or at least has more amazing lines like she did in Origins. Flemeth's lines were some of my favourites and I hope she doesn't become like Kreia.

I also would not mind a Qunari female or a female warrior or both.

Aside from a dwarf who fits the drink'in buddy role, I would like to see a strong female character... and I mean physically. I'm with RunNeonTiger... minus Flemeth. Only place I want flemeth is buried six feet under.

Definitely agree about Flemeth. This time I wanna see dismemberment and decapitation, just to be sure.

I'd love to see a socially awkward nerdy sort of character, presented in a charming way. I haven't actually played ME, but I've watched most of the character scenes and I LOVED this about Tali. This character-type is actually woefully underrepresented in video games, which is hilarious cause it makes up so much of the audience :P

Would love a really bookish male character, especially if he were young and had glasses and were romanceable and ...

A witty, streetwise chimney sweep attuned to the beat of the streets since his parents died in a tragic pineapple accident. He likes single-frame comics, pathfinding glitches and zinfandel. Possible names: Pompadore, Guildenstern, Barry.

I second the notion that our sister shouldn't be killed at any point like they almost did to poor Imoen back in the BG2 days :) . She should be with the team the whole game. Other characters I would like to see would be Shale (with her original Dwarven body, and with a much different voice of course), I'd like for her to have a different name and for it not to be obvious at all that it's Shale until later on in the game, when she says things that make it obvious. It would be nice to have a Dwarven member of the team that I actually liked :) .

Another type of character that I'd like to have on the team is a new special kind of Darkspawn. Sort of the opposite of the 'broodmother', it would be an attractive female who only has a minor (but enough to be important) Darkspawn-like appearance. She would be one of the many women that the Darkspawn kidnap and drag beneath the surface, and her role, as intended, would be that of an elite fighter for the Darkspawn. Whether she would have escaped before they could turn her mind to the dark side, or whether she was simply too strong mentally for them to control, either way she gets away and eventually meets Hawke, and she becomes a possible ally and love interest.

I could see the possibility of her character being a basicly 'good' person who is horrified by what has happened to her, how she now has certain dark-side type impulses caused by what the Darkspawn did to her, that she has to fight against, and that she hates the new darkspawn-like aspect of her appearance. You as the player could influence her to fight those negative influences, and help her fully maintain/regain her humanity, or encourage her to embrace the darker aspects of her new self and the power it provides.

Indeed. We could use another Tali-esque character in DA2.

This is probably what I'd like to see more than anything else.  A companion or two that you could influence toward good or evil based on your actions and interactions with them.  Arcanum had a nice example of this, featuring a goody-two-shoes type character that you could eventually turn into a total bad-guy jerk.

And in general, I'd like for there to be a couple of companions that are more outright villainous, rather than just morally questionable.  I know a big part of Dragon Age is the moral complexity and abundance of gray areas, but should I choose to play as a more ill-intentioned character, I'd like to be able to have a couple of followers/minions that are likewise inclined.

I also think someone's suggestion of Connor could be cool.  He'd be a little too young at the start, but perhaps a few years into the story he could pop up as a skilled mage.  This would also satisfy the elusive "male mage" quota, although I wouldn't mind seeing Anders again, too.

And yes, I support a darkspawn companion.
