Say you're a game developer. You look at your forums. You have one thread about the lore of your world, and another which consists of people that assume that you are embarrassed for the game and will most likely take whatever you say and twist it into whatever they already believe about the subject.

Which thread do you enter?

You know, I do understand them in a way, they certainly get more customers into the store when they talk about what a darkspawn eat rather than they to explain how come the the graphics /style is so poor on those screenshots, after they said it would look super hot.

you are aware of people around the net is laughing of those screenshots,I also thought it was a joke the first time I saw them

Well, no. Maybe to you. I ask for clarification so I know what the heavens I'm responding to.

And seriously, I'm not going to stop replying to what I think is BS just because you say I'm trolling. It's a video game forum. It's not real life.

I don't think it's cartoony, but I'm not sure what people are seeing that makes them think it is a great deal better than DAO.  The shading is more subtle.  The hair looks more natural, that's good.  The shadows on the faces look realistic, and so does the blood spatter- the streak across the nose is a nice touch.  I'll grant these are subtle improvements.

Not only that but the faces themselves look really good. I love Hawke's expression there, and his overall appearance reminds me very much of Ye Olde Times Greece. I also hope that that's his sister next to him: as cool as romances can be, it'd be great to be casted next to a female lead without any sexual tension!

Beard Hair:  Eww blood!
Beard Hair City Mayor: Lets all run!!!
*Hair preceeds to try and escape from face on Hawke's right jawline*

Hawke's facial expression = trepidation. To me, anyway.

Facial expressions are extremely difficult to do.

I don't expect this game to looks any worse than the first game, and the first game is far from horrible so graphics aren't really that big of a concern for me. The screenshots are underwhelming, yes.. The environments in particular look wrong. I'm more interested in seeing the game in motion and seeing some dialouge though.

I don't see that the faces are any more expressive than DAO.

As for "old times Greece," doesn't say much to me but I guess it ties into the whole "fight like a Spartan" theme.  Whatever that means.

Hawke actually does remind me of the King in 300, just a bit more Shaggy I guess.

TW2 is out Q1 also.  Same time frame as DA2.

Yea and your point? the RED Engine is very Pretty, but so what? There are plenty of other RPGs that look better then DA:O but that doesn't really mean anything.

My point is that TW2 due out the same time as DA2.  AND, the TW series is easily as deep (more so actually) as DA, with all the complex choices and game play intact.  With a great story to boot.  And the lore is more compelling and more fully developed.    So, wtf is wrong with Bioware?  If little CD Projekt can pull it off, surely Bioware with EA behind them should be light years ahead......  Right?

CD Project created a new engine for the graphics that is why they look better.

The Witcher 2 and Dragon Age 2 are entirely two different types of games. Dragon age is in the high fantasy tradition, The Witcher is grounded in gritty realism.

The Witcher 2 is going to be a better looking game - that much has been established. Doesn't mean it will be a better game to play.

I haven't heard Dragon Age referred to as high fantasy.  In fact the devs talk about distinguishing it from Lord of the Rings specifically in regards to the graphics.

This is news to me. I know the first installment derived much from Tolkein...ie, high fantasy. Heard them specifically say as much.

DAO also runs on a custom-made engine by BioWare (Eclipse), they were (and still are) free to make it equally capable.

We will see if they can make the graphics as good when the game comes out.

I was happy with DAO graphics but so far i don't think much of the DA2 graphics.

I doubt it will match the visuals we see in TW2...some of the best haven't even been posted on this thread.

No matter. DA2 will look good enough and deliver plenty of quality content. Of that, I'm sure.

good storyline, glitch-free play, 1080p for my PS3, not much to ask for... I'm used to changes in styles. It's bound to happen when someone new signs on.

To be a fanboy of design styles only is like saying you'll only watch one specific directors movies over another one simply because they do it different than you're used to IMHO. My favorite Happy Potter movies were 1, 3, and 6... but I've watched all of them.

Practically (as in almost everyone)  no demanding games on the PS3 are 1080p.
This is alot to ask for.

Well, what I mean is that The Witcher is steeped in human politics and philosophical ideals.

Dragon Age is about defeating a universal, all encompassing evil.
