You didn't kill her- Morrigan says as much when you talk to her after you kill Flemeth.

Its not a package that Flemeth has Hawke deliver to the Dalish. Its an amulet.

But before this footage I read reviews and they said "package" But seriously why draw attention to the word package if it was just a amuletPosted Image. Also thats why I said initially but it could still happen if the player usses a imported DR save. It's just more likely it's the amulet.

Does anyone know how hard she was to kill?! And now in the sequel GUESS WHAT EVERYONE all that work is for nothing because she isn't really dead! Isn't that awesome guys? HECK NO!!!

Sorry guys rant over.

Eh, franchise and saga villains are notoriously hard to put down for good.  Look at comics, or *SPOILER*

The Wheele of Time novels

This is why I have not been allowed to kill Morrigan for sure yet. Oh i can run her of in Lotharin by throwing rocks like one would run off a stray mongrel, oh how delightful that analogy sounds. I can get some lame ass stab and she falls into the eluvian instead of the gut her and toss her in the dirt at your feet watching her bleed out. No i figure just to be safe one will have to kill both Morrigan and Flemeth, i am not sure what either has planned but i am pretty sure it will not bode well for anyone but which ever of the two survives the final conflict that seems to be brewing. Gank them both and move on it is the only way to be sure, besides Morrigan has already wasted enough of my time.

Oh, I remember people saying Flemeth said package. Maybe its  a difference in importing versus not, like you said? Or maybe the package reference was in an older build?

It could have also been the folks writing the previews were trying to avoid too many spoilers and they said "package" instead of "amulet"

Then why not say package not "package" like it has some ulterior meaning. They clearly dont know how we DA fans over analylise ever text and image thats released.Posted Image

I wonder what the amulet is for.......maybe to track the band of Dalish, like the ring Morrigan gave to the Warden. Or maybe it has something to do with the Mirrors......although don't the Dalish and Flemeth get along to an extent in the novels anyway? Anyone's guess I suppose.....

If Flemeth - or Morrigan - turn out to be the big baddle, I'm fine with that.

But I want to fight them as my PC - not in some weird team battle of Morrigan and me v Flemeth and Warden, or the reverse, or whatever.

Wait us are you serious? Us over analyse every scrap of information, guessing at nonsensical plot lines and drivel. I find that stereo type offensive and i would report you except i am throughly involved in a debate over which super hero would win in a fight the Green Lantern or the Phantom, and NO you can not participate get your own misinformed meat head to disabuse. As soon as i finish that consider yourself reported mister. We do not have any time for that we have to make sure the gush threads keep growing, sharing every scrap of information we find about out favorite characters, and about how much hotter Leliana is in comparison to all the other characters in the history of story telling, ever. Cause you know she is hawt, in that tasty lickable kind of way.

As Victor Canning put it, “Inevitably in the creation of a legend, the first casualty is truth.” A lot of what we 'seem' to know about Flemeth is contradictory. Is the Black Grimoire we find in the tower actually Flemeth's? And is it accurate about how she extends her life?

Even Morrigan keeps changing her opinion of Flemeth.

I suspect that Morrigan is Flemeth's true daughter and Flemeth may have a soft spot for her. And I suspect the tension between Flemeth and Morrigan is the spine of the whole series.  Caveat: unless the devs have done a major course change between DA:O and DA2 and you can't trust anything. :)

I thought truth was the first casualty in war. Truth is the first casualty a lot. It's the thing we kill to show the danger is serious.

Has anyone actually seen any footage of Flemeth that doesn't take place in Lothering which is BEFORE SHE CAN DIE IN ORIGINS?

It is an assumption that she will be in the game after Lothering.  Similarly, it was also assumed that  Lawrence Fishburn would play a major part in Predators. The idea that she will be a main character in DA2 could just be a marketing ploy.

Now she may appear kinda like the Ice Queen in the Chronicles of Narnia, as a spirit looking for a way back into the physical world, if you killed her. But I think it would be pretty lame if she just showed up as if I didn't jump on her head, ride it like a bull and then jammed a greatsword into her skull.

The other thought is that the amulet she wants Hawke to give the dalish keeper (powerful mage) will transfer her consciousness to the keeper upon her death.  In this case Flemeth will have a new body in DA2 if you ever see her after the exodus from Lothering.

We've seen footage of very little.  Posted Image

However, you're right that, other than the fact she's in the early part of the game, we have no idea whether she re-appears.  Not everyone "killed" her, I imagine (in quotes since Morrigan tells us she's not really dead), so there is an issue about when she re-appears (if she does) vis-a-vis when she was possibly "killed" in DA:O.

She may well have been introduced this early because she was a somewhat major character in DA:O, and is therefore familiar to us.

As with all else in DA2 at this point, we must wait and see.

That said, have we had an explanation yet for why she looks different in the early part of DA2 than she did in DA:O - besides the new engine/graphics, that is?

Aye, she links the two together nicely, performing the obi-wan/"call to adventure" role.

She also narrated the trailer, for all that's worth, implying that events are at least important to her, even if she is not to them.

She's a shapeshifter.  They don't really have to explain it.

They never explained why hurlocks and genlocks are porportional to their non-tainted equivalents, but sharlocks and ogres are so different.  At least ogres are humanoid. Sharlocks are built like werewolves from head to toe.

Well, no, I don't think "she's a shapeshifter" simply does away with it - unless her shapeshifting is significantly different than the way morrigan explained it.  Remember, she said she couldn't take the form of another person, or otherwise appear differently as a human.  So, unless Flemeth works differently - and hey, she might, if her true form isn't human - "she's a shapeshifter" doesn't cut it as an explanation, for me.

And what the hell is a Sharlock???  New Darkspawn for DA2, or is my memory from DA:O that bad?

We've had word of god on that, she is a different sort of shifter.

Flemeth is a shapeshifter and she does "work" differently in so far as it would seem she isn't an abomination or even truly human.

Here we go, from Gaider:

David Gaider wrote...

Wissenschaft wrote...
Morrigans ability to shapeshift is likely quite limited compared to Flemeth and  so its likely Morrigan does not have the ability to shapeshift into  other humans for the simple reason that she never bothered to learn how, not because she can't.

This is it. Morrigan is a  shapeshifter, yes, and when she was talking about the limitations on her abilities that's what she was referring to. Flemeth has more knowledge  than Morrigan, and Morrigan was not talking about Flemeth's  limitations-- only her own. Morrigan cannot turn into a dragon either,  after all.

And going from this bit of lore, Flemeth does indeed change her human form.
