If you want to admit it or not, Morrigan was one if not the most important character in the game. I mean its not as if Leli mother is a shapershifting witch that has surived years by taking control of her daughters.

Morrigan offered you a chance to live! and have a god child .... A GOD CHILD!

Is it wrong that I want to encounter Morrigan in Mama Bear mode (she doesn't need the dark ritual to have a kid) and have my ass soundly kicked?

After Warden/Morrigan vs Flemeth, I think Hawke/Flemeth vs Morrigan would be kinda fun.

You'll probably find out that morrigan and flemeth are now the same person.

edit:  I should clarify, Flemeth you know as the old woman in the beginning of DA2 and a younger "Flemeth" you meet again towards the end.

Personally, I love Morrigan as a character (though my Warden quite dislikes her as a person). I do think it's a little cruel of Bioware if the slide at the end of DA:O is the last we ever see of her... But it does fit in with the bitter-sweet feel of the story so far. I mean, no one gets an unambiguously happy ending, no matter what. (For most combinations I can think of, anyway... Someone who sincerely hates Alistair could actually have a pretty good ending... But otherwise some compromises and sacrifices to what the Warden cares about have to take place, regardless of what path you choose.)

Actually you can pretty much give Anora everything she's ever wanted if you crown her, let her execute Alistair, save her father and then take the US yourself. I think that's kinda funny considering what she's like and how popular she is with players, lol.

I wasn't referring to NPCs, but to PCs.  :)  If you don't care about Alistair, then you have loads of options for ending things happily for your Warden.  If you do...  Well, there's always the harden Alistair, pre-arrange his marriage, spare Loghain, and take the Warden Redeemer ending.  If you romanced Alistair, that still kinda sucks, but it could be worse.

What I was getting at was the fact that nearly all Wardens have to lose something and/or someone they care about during the endgame.  While the case of Morrigan's disappearance is very sad for a lot of players, they're hardly alone in the bitter-sweet experience of DA:O.

All true. Alistair is my favorite NPC personally so I like to put him on the throne, do the DR and marry him. But that's not a completely happy ending either. Any way it ends you still have the spectre of the taint hanging over your head which makes any ending bittersweet. I love that about DA though...makes a way more poignant story after all.

I want Morrigan to return! After Oghren she might have been my fav character (or tied with Loghain).

If she does return I would love to have her as an enemy rather then companion. I think she would make a great villain, especially considering her background. Tragic villi-ans make for some of the best villians (Arthas from Warcraft, b**** queen from starcraft, Loghain, Darth Vader... man the list goes on and on!)

I don't mind Morrigan being back. She was a "diamond in the rough" sort of speak.

Precisely.  To my mind, any ending involving the DR is bittersweet in one way or another.

I wish Morrigan would come back, as really liked her as a character. But i also hope that if she doesn't appear, people would just accept it and live on.

Sure we want Morrigan back. She is the most convincing character in the whole game.
Shame that we didn't get any chance to settle things between our Warden and her.
But guess that's what's up. Gotta get used to it. :( (Maybe a DLC or something? Doubtful..)
:(

Who thinks there will be Morrigan DLC? Posted Image

exp maybe dlc no they would be burning mega bucks if they only made it a cheap dlc

Actually, they probably'd make more if it's DLC. Pretty much every fan (regardless of if morrigan's in it) will buy DA2. DLC on the other hand, needs to be special \\ attractive for people to buy. A Morrigan DLC would sell VERY WELL.

Storytelling-wise OTOH, I'd rather have this story play out in the main games.

I'd also rather have it told well, maybe waiting for it to happen in DA3, than rush it in DA2 JUST to have it in there. (I'll gladly wait until DA3 if it means we'll BE the "god-baby" in that game, for example.)

A Morrigan DLC would sell very well, but they could just save her story for DA3. Think about it if the new direction fails in DA2 they could make a DA3 with Morrigan in it.

I wasnt going to buy DA2 when I heard you would have to play as Hawke then I heard Flemeth was confirmed. The devs also said Morrigans story was not done so she could be in DA2 but it wont be the same if your not your warden.Posted Image

There's an older thread already discussing Morrigan in DA2
