I named the dog "Barkspawn" because killing it.

Killing it before it began.

My coronation did suck, yes - considering I told Alistair I loved him and then got him executed...

It sucked.

I'm assuming by this you mean "Have Alistair execute Loghain then have Anora become Queen by herself."

According to the wiki, Anora will not execute Alistair if this happens. For one thing, if both Loghain and Alistair are dead and the PC is female, there is no way for the Dark Ritual to work.

Nope.  Well, except in your head, I suppose.

Yea I agree killing Dog was inhumane. HOWEVER! You should get a trophy for staring the dragon in the eyes while standing on the bodies of your victims. It puts both of you on even ground, dont ya think?

I'm curious - If you are alone at the Denerim finale, who defends the gates, when it should be the rest of your party? do you come back and do it, or just leave it to the grunts?

I have finished Dragon Age Origins and played all the walkthroughs, so i thought "I'm gonna choose the most torturing option I can" and so, I set it to Nightmare mode and:
Told Morrigan to take a hike
Killed Zevran when I first met him
Killed Leliana in the Urn of Ashes
Got Alistair Executed
Got Loghain Executed
Left Sten in the cage
Kill Wynne at first sight
Never went to Shale
Got rid of the dog

Now, I stand at the Archdemon - alone. I regret nothing but like, does this get me anything?
(BTW I killed the elves and mages)

P.S Oghren is taking the hike with Morrigan.

So was that hack and mod free?  Because I don't think you deserve anything if it wasn't.

*Edit* Grrr! Hindsight!

This is impossible.  you have either Alistair or Loghain recruited.  You cannot have them both executed.

You can have either Alistair or Loghain cooling their heels at the gates i think, but your scenario, as you have it written here, is impossible.

Edit: Also, if you have recruited dog, you can't get rid of him.  And if you have named him, you have recruited him.

Gah, didn't realize this was a necro thread1!

Wait! I have a question. When you finish killing the generals in Dernerim and the alieange (sp) there is a cutscene using the companions you didn't take to the final battle. How did that work if you don't have any companions?

After Alistar kill Loghain and if the PC support Anora as queen (un-hardende alistar), wont she call for Alistar's execution as she see him as a treat to the throne?.

Altho i cant recall the dialog options, but i remember telling Anora to let him live.

No she will not.  she asks for him to renounce his claim to the throne and he does.  she does not call for the execution of her father's killer, though she will refuse to marry him.  You always end the game with Alistair or Loghain.  You can't get rid of both.

she calls for his execution only if you spare Loghain and make her solo queen, and then you can ask her to let him live.

Zhijn - Under certain circumstances, yes, Anora will call for Alistair's execution. Otherwise, she will simply call for Alistair to publically renounce his claim to the throne. But I'm not totally sure what those circumstances are.

Someone earlier in the thread said she won't call for Alistair's execution is Loghain is dead, since this means the Dark Ritual would then be impossible for a female warden. Which makes sense. Though perhaps it is possible if the warden is male...?

It is not.  If Loghain is dead, Alistair under every single circumstance survives.

Fair enough. I suppose that makes sense re. the final sacrifice decision too...

I ask because I'm thinking of doing a similar playthrough - playing a bastard whose companions turn on them and ending up with no-one. Might be a woman, seduce Alistair, and have him sacrifice himself to the AD. That'd work...

Man im so sure i had the options to off Alistair after he killed Loghain.

I think it went something like this, not 100% sure as its been awhile.

1. Agreed to have Anora marry Alistar.
2. Alistar kills Loghain, Anora wont marry him.

PC then need to make the choice of who will be the next ruler, and this is where i voted for Anora and she then called for his execution or could have been an exiled. And i told her no please blabla, and she backed down. What i dont remember is if my dialog options were limited to only one respond - "no anora".

Alistair wasnt hardende so he didnt force himself to be King after Loghain's death (or he was i cant recall this part either).

Hm, i might have a save just befor the landsmeet, so ill do a check later.

/edit p.s I was a male Warden so the Dark Ritual went on as normal.

Nope i cant find any save that allow both to be killed. I gues it was just wishful thinking, or something of a dream. I could just have sworn i went through a game where Anora called for his death.

Anora does call for his death if Loghain lives.  If Loghain dies, she just asks for him to renounce his claim to the throne.
