On a semi-related note, how do you complete the bridge puzzle in the gauntlet without three companions (it seems to me you only had Alistair and Leliana at that point)?
I have noone left?

If for some reason you don't have a full party at that point, the game provides you with Ash Wraiths to make up the numbers.

People have soloed the game on nightmare before... It is not like this is the only option, and by soloing you actually leave your companions at the side when you are forced to use them (like at the tower against the ogre which is one of the hardest fights for a soloer btw).
