Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how
to get Alistair to initiate his confession.

I've finished his companion
quest and have finished the mage tower main quest...according to most
sources, the conditions are met. His approval of me is at 60-ish
(care)...do I need a higher approval before he says something?

I
don't know if I'm glitching or if I'm doing something wrong...any
advice or personal experience will be helpful thanks!

You need to go to Redcliffe if you mean the bastard one.

You need him at 91+ after you've done his personal quest. He needs to be in love.

You don't need to have completed his companion quest to complete the relationship with him, but it does potentially offer a boost in approval that helps to get there. Since he's a virgin and more of an "old fashioned" lover, you'll need him to like you much more (as ejoslin said, around 90) in order for him to confess.

If his quest is done, yeah.

There is also an option of where you can ask him first to your tent to be intimate when you get his approval high enough. If you want to go that route. If you turn him down however be prepared to lose approval points and his demeanor towards you changes. Keep those gifts handy if you plan to turn him down. Helps get him become warm again without romance.

If it's just the "I have feelings for you" confession you're after, he only needs to be over 70-ish. But for him to invite you to spend the night with him, it's 91+.

It's actually quite interesting to try it both ways, as you get different conversations.
If you initiate sex with Alistair first, and before he's told you he loves you (70+ range), you get a different conversation post cutscene. I actually prefer this version because it's less gushy and seems more real. More along the lines of "Thank you for my first time being with someone I trust."
If you wait for Alistair to initiate the sex (90+ range), you'll get the post cutscene conversation where he tells you how much he loves you, in the most sappy and sentimental of ways. "Have I ever told you how much I love you, well let me tell you again" Blech!

I always use the:

Im not sure line in his romance to get him to kiss the PC first. Comes off real nice and makes it seem like he is interested and not just there for the PC to flirt with. Suprised me on my CE for sure.

I didn't really like how he kisses you if you say you don't know whether you want to start something. I guess the line is supposed to be coy but I saw it as 'I'm still working out whether I want somethi-holy...don't force a kiss on me!' Notably when you kiss him, he gets the opportunity to turn you down and does if Leliana/Zevran are romanced and also in the party.



Of course, YMMV.

Is that mod just a replacement of the love scene with him? It looks pretty...

It combines several different modded tent scenes, the vanilla tent scene, adds a special first night mod which is gorgeous, and puts in some special treats like a hug mod.  Really, it is a must have.

If you don't mind being spoilered, you can see videos of the modded scenes at my video page (see sig).  But you might want to wait and see them for yourself with your character.  Be prepared for buckets o' squee.

Oh, and do you have an elf character?  Because that first night mod for elves has the single hottest kiss in the game, hands down.

PC version.  PC all the way.

The only good content in the DA universe since the original release has come from the modders.

Haha. . .yes, underwear, awkwardness, brevity and all. I actually found it very amusing after I got over the "Is That All There Is?"-ness of it. I mean, what else could I have expected from a virgin raised in what is practically a monastery?
