Wah. . .I am playing on the PS3 so cannot use mods. . .I'm stuck with the more, um, "realistic" first-time scene.

PC version.  PC all the way.

The only good content in the DA universe since the original release has come from the modders.

So I'm coming to realize. Unfortunately my PC just doesn't have the graphics capability. Eventually I may install some upgrades but I'd need more reasons for doing that than just to be able to play a game I already own and enjoy on another platform. We'll see.

You download the mod from here: Combined Romance Mod - Alistair and you unzip its content in your override folder. It is located, if you're using Windows 7, usually here:
C:\\Users\\<your username>\\Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override\\

Agreed.  As far as I'm concerned this is Alistair canon.  Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB  It also demonstrates what the vanilla could have been like.  Both tmp7704 and DahliaLynn get points for using the animations to great emotional effect.  Also props to cmessaz who had the idea to put it all together and had to go through a lot of crap to get it to work, and continues to add great content.

I'll just point out again that I have videos of most of these mods for people who are wondering what all the fuss is about (see link in sig).  The YouTube comments always run "holy crap why wasn't this in the original."

Haha. . .yes, underwear, awkwardness, brevity and all. I actually found it very amusing after I got over the "Is That All There Is?"-ness of it. I mean, what else could I have expected from a virgin raised in what is practically a monastery? :P

Of course, here's hoping he's trainable. . .

Alistair is oh, so trainable......and if you're lucky you can tell a friend just how trainable he is...(I love that part). Image IPB

Now I have to ask, because I think I've reached the point in my game where there will definitely be no more lovin' for my Warden and Alistair (unless we're both still alive when the Blight ends). . .ARE there subsequent scenes to be had after that first one? Does the Warden have to be a HNF to get them? What have I missed? Or do I, once again, have to play the PC version in order to find out exactly how trainable Alistair is? The only opportunities my poor Dwarf Warden has had to go to bed with Alistair after the first time have been in camp, where she says "Let's go to sleep" and he says "Right on" and they kiss and after a 2-second blackout, there they are in camp again in full gear, smiling at each other. I thought for sure there would have been an opportunity for something more than a quickie when they had real beds in Arl Eamon's estate before Landsmeet, but nope. :(

I regret to inform you that without mods, the first tent scene is the end of the road.  Sorry.  Image IPB

There will be some more relationship stuff after the Landsmeet.  Uh... it could be good or bad, I'm not sure how much you want to be spoilered.  I would say as a general rule, save the "where do you see this going" talk for after the LM, since if it ends up good, that dialogue can be very Image IPB.  Also you can kiss him when you're out and about, and various team members will make smart comments.  It's also cute to try it when he's the only one in the party.

Too late, already Landsmet. I did have a couple of inklings of what not-nice things might happen at Landsmeet and had been anxious to avoid them. Things turned out ok, though. We're heading off to the final battle now and Alistair and I are still together, if that's what you're referring to.

Well, dang. At least I know I didn't do anything wrong, though.

Landsmeet has met, nothing fantastically good happened but nothing bad either. :) I did not wait on that dialogue, though, but thanks for the tip --I'll save it for next time! That dialogue happened after Eamon recovered and first suggested Alistair for the kingship; despite his protestations Alistair seemed to be willing to (grudgingly) accept the role if that's what was good for Ferelden and stopping the Blight. He and my Warden had *just* (well, a quest or two back) consummated our relationship and pledged our undying love and that we'd stick by each other forever etc., and then wtf? I knew that King Alistair + Duster Warden = fail, so the next time we were in camp I asked. That dialogue didn't hurt anything but I did get the "let's talk about this another time, ok?" from an uncomfortable-looking Alistair with crinkled brows. I will wait for the <3 Landsmeet dialogue next time.

You can keep him if he's hardened.  That's how my poor elves usually end up, since I don't seem to be able to make Anora sole ruler for love or money.

A-haaaaa. . .good to know.

Anyway, in this playthrough I'm doing right now I would probably have had the most difficulty getting Alistair and Anora to marry each other out of any of the options. He got pissed at her when she confessed that she was responsible for getting me thrown in jail, while she expressed no confidence in his ability to rule, and then he executed her father, so no --no wedding for those two. I did actually have an option to propose that he and I rule together, which I didn't think was possible for non-human Wardens, but aside from just seeing if I could get away with it I really didn't want my Warden to be queen any more than Alistair wanted to be king. Anora has it all to herself and we couldn't get out of there fast enough to go smite some Darkspawn. :)

Any Warden can say that they'll rule with Alistair/Anora but only a HN either in love or with good persuasion will be accepted.

And if your persuasion was decent enough the only thing stopping Alistair and Anora from marrying in the situation you described was the fact that he killed Loghain instead of you.

Actually, my suggestion was that Anora should rule alone, which was immediately accepted by everyone. Addai67 had just said that she can somehow never stop Alistair and Anora from marrying, to which my response was that I think of all the options I had, the marriage may have been the least likely thing to happen. . .which was all according to my plan, of course. . .muhahahahaha. . .

I thought that was more of a 'I don't trust Anora enough to let her rule by herself and have grave doubts about her competency given that's she's the status quo' instead of 'Anora and Alistair keep insisting on getting hitched.'

Oh no, I meant that I as a player just can't bring myself to put Anora on the throne alone.  I did so on my 1st game and never since.

oh, ok. . .that makes more sense. I was wondering if your Alistair and Anora had magnets on them or something.
