Gonna flee before this turns into a Cerbus Vs Council/Alliance thread.

Just have to add that Paragade is the way for me. Although Renegade is more fun to play since you are one serious BAMF.

Paragons are heroes.  Renegades are anti-heroes.  Anti-heroes get better results, but at the expense of others.  Who cares about the others???  RENEGADE!!!!! Image IPB

I shall settle this with indisputable logic.

If

Batman = Renegade

Superman = Paragon

And

Batman > Superman

Therefore

Renegade > Paragon

Renegade wins.

Renegade. but ME2's default story is neutral/renegade which kind of ruined the whole point renegade a little for me.

I almost always go Paragon, but.... shooting Conrad makes it real tempting to go for the dark side:devil:

Renegades are also rapists, pedos, murders, and commit incest. That's how they act.

And Paragons are naive, apologists, who act meanly and sanctimoniously to others who had to do harsh things.

In this game, there's no downside to paragon. So, in a nutshell, objectively, in Mass Effect, paragon is better.

However, this state of affairs is also totally retarded.

See, let's say there's a villain that no jail cell can hold. He will always escape, and will cause untold slaughter. By not killing him, the untold slaughter is YOUR fault.

This villain is Joker, and the "I never kill anyone, ever" failure in question is Batman.

Haha fair enough ... I'm pretty much neutral, too.
My videos have Shep going 50/50 while successfully making every negotiation check in the game.
Then again, it helps to have gone 50/50 in ME1 and get +190/+190 on import. Helps a lot.

Well it seems in Mass Effect 2 it depends on your origions. If your Ruthless you get x2 Renegade points. War Hero you get x2 Paragon points. However honestly you get more quick Renegade options than you do quick Paragon. Usually the renegade options are more fun to watch like in Mordins loyalty you go "You talk to much", then shoot a pipe a few times which kills the krogan boss intantly or in the mission to get Thane you push a guy out a window then go "How about goodbye". You do get some nice moments with quick Paragon like hugging Tali or owning a C sec guy after he threatens to arrest a quarian girl for a stupid reason. But mostly the quick paragon choices are ok like yelling at Reager to back off from shooting the Geth Colassus or telling Mordin to calm down but the quick Renegades seem more worth it and even gives you really awsome results like eleminateing a boss without a fight or two.

Also some choices that seem to give you points towards the two also like yelling at Kelly for getting kinky over the "I'll embrace you Kelly" choice then BS her after ward. But some of it is like "I'll do it for you no matter what" type stuff which gives you paragon choices. I still like going with the 'Were right behind you' choice in the mission to get Samara whioch gives you some renegade points when talking to the Volus late in the mission. He goes out, fires a teeny, tiny hadookun at the Asari boss which barely glzaes her. She retalitaes by fireing one back at him which kills him. I'm like LOL when I see it.

My feelings for Paragon and Renegade in Mass Effect 2 are:

Paragon= Emo moments

Renegade= Comic relief

Put it this way, would you like an action protagonist be a ruthless bloodthirsty badass with a dark sense of humour, or a rather idealistic goody-goody prat?

So Renegade in my opinion is the best....at least in ME2, in ME1 you can be a bit too jerky. However, on some choices i'd choose paragon such as Legion's Loyalty (rewrite), Samara's Loyalty (save Samara), anything that gave loyalty (ex. Tali's, shouting at the board FTW!), when talking to Garrus/Tali/Legion and on romances.

And don't pull all this stuff about "you're a monster if you're going to burn krogan!" It's just a game...lol.

In my opinion they are both heroes. Just one is more ruthless is personality.

Mind you, my Shepard's bar is actually quite close to renegon. A full renegade bar and a quarter full paragon one.
