Yeah, when interrogating um I forgot his name, but when you interrogate that guy on Thane's mission (not Mouse) I always wanted to do that renegade option that say's I'm a Spectre.
Fastest interrogation ever! You need a lot of renegade points for that. The earlier you do that mission, the less renegade you need. If it's one of your last main missions, you're going to need almost a full bar. Personally I enjoy beating him up more. The only thing sweeter is shooting dead that anti-human extortionist Joram Talid.

I role-play my 'canon' Shepard based on a mix of myself and the way I would perceive someone who's spent their whole life around the Alliance (My Shepard's a spacer).
For instance:
- I save the factory workers in Zaeed's loyalty mission as a whole factories worth of victims are at stake and Vido would just be replaced anyway.
- I wound Balak and leave him for the Alliance as he threatened millions and deserves to be punished and to never be able to terrorize another world. He also has information on the Batarian rebels plans.
- I sacrificed the council as the galaxy was minutes away from facing impossible odds and we needed every ship working to destroy Sovereign. The fact Humans will later be in power doesn't factor into my decision AT ALL.
- I spare Elnora as I'm not an executioner and she seems young and impressionable at the time you meet her. Even if we meet her again after learning the truth I probably would only wound her and turn her in. Not because she doesn't deserve a bad end but simply because that's what I think I'd do in real life.
You see where I'm going with this. I have a good split of paragon and renegade decisons that make sense for my character.

Paragade is the way to go! I don't think sticking to one mindset throughout the whole game is that fun. I like to make a backstory for my Shepard and make choices based on that.

Yeah, I think most people play a mix to a certain extent. Though, I'd argue that there is no real one way to go. I think the best way is what you find to be the most interesting story. For me, it's generally renegade but not completely. What stopped me going renegade before is that I usually didn't separate myself from the protagonist I was playing. So my characters where usually idealistic with a bit of butt kicking when warrented. Separating myself from the character though has been rewarding story wise. Decisions become easier and more inceisive and the story seems better.

I shall settle this with indisputable logic.
If
Batman = Renegade
Superman = Paragon
And
Batman > Superman
Therefore
Renegade > Paragon
Renegade wins.
FAIL!
They are both Paragons.
Did you forget that Batman and Superman don't kill anyone?

I love Batman. He's like the Garrus of Gotham city.

Everyone likes you, most people will help you and should you choose to play the renegade-way for some decisions, no one would suspect the noble hero...heh heh heh.
P.S.: Only other difference is, that Renegades can read books in bed without a light.

Paragon Shepard does have a leg up since a lot of renegade choices makes Shep look like an jerk. It's fun to play him but I imagine everyone around his presence must hate him. Also Some renegade choices are hard to stomach.

Renegades are the opposite. If threats get the job done, why wait? Just cut to the chase.
Both have their ups and downs. Paragons can become stupid and naive, and too optimistic. Renegades can be turn evil and a criminal in themselves.

Yeah but its the cheap way out. You get your info right away without breaking his face.
Personally I have turned into a Paragade player and take every quick option that comes up for me and make my choices based on my gut.
Still end up with a full paragon bar and bar and a half for renegade to two bars by time I get to the end and a good surplus of cash too since I tend to be greedy as balls.

Oh...I see. So If I was a renegade I could see in the dark, but if I was a Paragon I could have cookies...decisions decisions decisions...
This is why you go Paragade so you can have both AND donut day every friday.
