After I've loaded my one of my two saved games (BG original 5 disc set) and can see my characters for a second or two, it closes with the following message:
"An Assertion failed in D:\\Dev\\Baldur\\CPathSearch.cpp at line number 723"
I'm playing on a Dell XPS 400 desktop. I got further than this in the game on my old Gateway from 1995. Any insight? I would really appreciate it.

I think I ran into something this before myself. After a lot of searching, found out there was a temp directory under the baldur's gate directory. I deleted that stuff started the game and volia no error.
