And if so, how would people react to a British voice actor for the PC?
Obviously it would have to be a cool British accent (Simon Pegg, Christian Bale, etc.) rather than the silly BBC-announcer voice we're used to hearing from RPG villains.
I personally think it would be cool, but would people freak out?

Bioware never said he was fereldian . Maybe he's an immigrant.
Actually, David Gaider as good as did when he said that while he loved Nathan Fillion's work (big paraphrase--he was funnier), the lack of accent would be a problem.

Anyway, I don't think his accent would freak anyone out, most of the Ferelden natives have very weak accents that you hardly notice compared to others. Duncan had no noticable accent and neither did Alistair or Cailan, come to think of it, very few had strong accents. Not sure if Loghain had an accent, but his voice is awesome, it's strong and commanding. It has weight.

I hope it's english. I am so not wanting an american accent to appeal to the ME crowd.
Eeek.
Right, because god forbid anyone likes both ME and DA, or perhaps even ME better. That's just sickening, right? I mean, everyone knows you play ME to hear Mark Meer's smooth American (well, Canadian).

No such thing as a British accent, the accent is called English.

Yes it is, but that actors may not be. It's just easier to say British than to break it down further. Steve Valentine is Scottish, not English, and some of the other actors may not be English, either. I refer to the voices of the actors playing elves and dwarves as North American, as well, not knowing which are American, and which are Canadian. Just a courtesy to the actors. Not a slight.
Side note: Everyone on this side of the ocean thinks those folks have accents.

There are many English accents, and many more British accents.

You said you don't want an American accented Hawke, not because it would continue a trend to make DA more like ME, but because it would appeal to people who like that game. Get coherency right, plzthx.

I'm pretty sure David said that they were getting british actors. Actually, they already have the Hawke voices; we just don't know who they are yet.

Anyway, I'm hoping for a British voice too, another American VO would just feel out of place... especially with someone from Fereldan.
