There are tons of very different british accents. You only have to go 50 miles in any direction for local accents to start sounding a bit different.

I am really against having a voiced PC anyway, but an american accent just wouldn't fit in right.

Here's two voice I would like to hear in DA2:
Christopher Eccleston and Sean Bean
Eccleston's Accent is marvelous and would be great on a Ferelden Native.
Sean Bean would make a great side-character/party member. The kind of Straight soldier who lost in sight why he fought so many battle and need Hawke to help him find a purpose in life. Love interest for female hawke would be great too.

Sean Bean's character would have to die before the end of the game though.

I like ME 1 and 2, I just dislike that BioWare themselves are seemingly making out ME to be better. Is all.

I agree with you Lucy_Glitter

I don't have a single problem with BBC announcers.

One of the many and varied British accents, please.  My own preferences are a lovely Northern English or Scottish accent (Christopher Eccleston's voice, Patrick Stewart's 'normal' accent when he's not poshing it up are both gorgeous) for the fellas; and a soft Welsh accent (Ruth Jones' normal voice, ie not quite as strong as Nessa!) for ladies - though any female accent that's soft and deep, rather than strident or squeaky is good for me :)

I was fine with Shepard having an American accent - the archetypal English officer thing would have been weird. One hint of 'Pip, pip, old Boy!' and I would have died of laughter or shame. :P Plus, and I'm thinking this is almost purely the influence of film and television, US voices somehow scream Science Fiction to me, while European accents seem more appropriate for fantasy. Perhaps Mandy Patinkin could do his Montoya voice for a character

At any rate, it's nice for us Europeans to get some love in a Bio game. Would be interesting if an Anderfels character made an appearance in DA2 - sporting a German/Austrian accent, of course.x

I want Hugh Laurie to voice Hawke but with a twist in his House accent! Everytime Hawk doese someting questionable he would say "House!" if he did something evil He would say "House!' with a companion right next to him saying "Roadhouse" with a brief response from Hawke saying "That too".

Well look how Alistairs voice turned out. A british accent would be better than a American accent.

Again, I think I heard somewhere that Hawke is Chasnid. So he might not sound British at all.

He'd also have to get a "Sharpe" reference in there somewhere.

I'd love a Scottish accent, especially on LadyHawke (Scottish women are dreamy ), but I'm not quite sure how Scottish accents fit into the DA universe.

Didn't the mad ranting Chasind have a Scottish accent? I also tend to assume that the Avvar have scottish accents, too.

The recollection of "British" accents... Okay, not the best set of accents ever but a few examples.

I'm from southern England and I would love a Scottish or northern english accent. I mean, whats not to like?

Think the argument about accents is because of perspective. Over here in the UK, to talk about a 'British accent' is to sound hopelessly unspecific . It's kind of like saying someone has a European accent. You can do it, but why would you? And I suppose it may be the same on the other side of the Atlantic. There isn't an American accent - there's you, and then there's all those guys who speak with Baltimore and Brooklyn and Canadian and Charleston accents.

Though I think that when people (generally from North America) talk about a 'British accent', it can touch a nerve with those who speak non-RP English and are proud of it. Particularly with Scottish and Welsh nationalists. Telling them they have a British accent will not go down well.

As I've said before, Sean Bean would voice an absolutely fantastic male Hawke.

As others said before: not if he put in the same effort he did for Oblivion, in which he wasn't very good at all.

I'm a fan of Sean Bean, I really am. He was fab as Sharpe, and he's been excellent in everything else I've seen him in. Seen being the operative word, here. I was appalled when I found out that was him in Oblivion, he wasn't good at all! Frankly, I could have done a better job in Oblivion; and I don't have years of acting experience and I'm a woman <_<

Yeah, he's a fantastic actor. Voice actor? Based on the evidence, not so much.

I thought all the VO work in Oblivion was awful, especially after you completed the Knights of the Nine quest, about five guys standing around you quietly saying "Yay", contrasted against the scene in DA:O where your Warden runs into Denerim with soldiers shouting encouragement with rousing music in the background.
