I haven't played NWN, hearing it's a good game and I was wondering if I should buy it. I'm a little worried about graphic-wise however but I don't think that's really and issue because i'm contempt playing old games like Diablo, Starcraft, etc.
Worth to play NWN?

Well you're speaking to a biased audience. IMO, it's definitely worth buying and playing.

Oh and regarding graphics, I think they're very good, but take a look at some screen shots of the single-player game or even some of the better designed servers. See what you think.

Both of them. NWN1 is also still active and worth playing. You will find that some players swear by NWN1 others by NWN2. Some are even grown up enough to like them both.

The NWN2 graphics are a bit dated by today's standards. Not as good as DA:O but far better than NWN1 and other games of its era. As cipher suggested take a look at some screenshots.
As for the game itself, it's definitely worth playing! Personally I enjoy the story better than DA:O (in fact in many respects I felt that DA:O was ripping off NWN2's plot, but really how much diversity is there in these types of games). And the 1st expansion pack, Mask of the Betrayer, is also excellent. Many people have even enjoyed that more than the OC. There was also a 2nd expansion pack, Storm of Zehir, which I would not recommend unless you're interested in modding/building.
It's built on typical DND rules so nothing very surprising on that front. The only complaint I've ever really had about it is the camera controls, but you get used to dealing with them pretty quickly.

Well it's cheap as chips, so why not give it a try?

You just have to give it a try. It's a matter of taste.
IMO NWN is the only bad cRPG Bioware ever released. I'm talking about basic single player campaign of course.
NWN2 is terribly linear, but it has some interesting characters. Oh, and it has the worst romances ever. Creepy druid stalker for males and mister Old Owl Well for females.
MotB is good if you like breaking the pillars of the universe.
SoZ is more like ancient cRPGs "where you had to remember to drink water, and it took five hours to get somewhere."

I've only recently purchased NWN2 and the expansions, and am enjoying it more than I did DAO. I'm not involved in an overwhelming fight around every corner and I can take my time and follow the storyline, without feeling exhausted after each battle. I'm only at level 5, but my curiosity has been aroused via the plot. NWN2 can also be upgraded on the graphics front via various mods. I find the first member of my party to be extremely amusing. He's a punchy Irish dwarf who can't resist a good punchup. Every time I talk to someone he claims we've been insulted and that we should wade in fists aflying. He also spends a lot of time arguing with another member of the team. I find him much more amusing than the disagreements which take place in DAO, they're far more entertaining, at least from my perspective. NWN2 is an RPG well worth buying and playing.
If you want something more diverse and a different scenario to RPG orc and goblin bashing then get Planescape: Torment. Excellent music, characters and Baddies, and a storyline to keep you enthralled. I promise you'll enjoy it.

I've tried NWN but somehow I've never gotten into it, I've tried restarting to play it to give it more chances, but I don't know what it is. The gameplay seems very complex and there were tutorials for like 2 hours and I just felt confused.

NWN and NWN2 are both definitely worth it. As to visuals? Hmm. I still like NWNs stuff. Sure, it's not Call of Duty or Crysis level, but hey, it's also not just blow things up, either. So the visuals are not the real attention grabber in the first place. That said, they are still quite good pretty much all the way around.
Storywise? Honestly a lot of the regulars here have the games so that they can play user created stories, known as Modules. Also there is a lot of Persistent Worlds play going on, both in NWN and NWN2. This is a matter of taste and choice, though currently if you're heavy into MP/PW play, it's quite possibly NWN you'd be looking for --- for now, still. That isn't to say that NWN2 PW play is not good, it's just more demanding on bandwidth and there are still some small issues being worked out by the Community. Those will fall away soon enough (except for the bandwidth issues.)
Are they worth it? Yeah. Of course, I've been playing consoles and computer games since I was in High Shcool (started the 10th grade in 1976) and so I have a pretty long and storied history of games, gaming and game design. So pretend that, while I may be biased, I am biased based on a rich history of experience, both from PnP (Pencil and Paper) gaming, board wargaming, and design of same, while being what anyone would have to call a "hard core" gamer (as I am passionate about it) but not a hard core techno gamer.
There are warts and bumps enough to go 'round on them, but that's going to be part and parcel of any game. I've yet to find the "perfect" game that has no issues, no annoyances and no reason to play something else. So, from my perspective, you are definitely stepping into something amazing if you decide to play them.
I do recommend getting all expansions for both games and patching up to the latest revisions. That way, you can realize, midway through the OC (Original Campaign) that the story is not that great (in either one of them) and now you have all you require to start playing modules made by some very talented and gifted Community Members (both in NWN and NWN2.)
I honestly don't think you'd be sorry if you got them. Make sure your computer makes the cut on NWN2 and if you have trouble getting things going, don't get mad, get help. Come here.
best regards,

If you don't like the included campaigns (and the original campaigns for NWN1 or NWN2 aren't the greatest, though the expansions are much better in each case). There are tons of community made modules out there, and many are better than the "pro" work.
NWN1 module list

In addition to these there are numerous persistent worlds (PWs) for both NWN1 and NWN2, that are essentially mini-mmo's.
All these combine to make NWN1 or NWN2 extremely high on value for your gaming dollars, as there's enough content to keep you going for a long, long time.
As far as graphics, NWN2 does lack compared to DA:O in NPC quality and combat animation, but it is capable of doing impressive things. I submit the following ingame screenshots as examples:

Indeed, with NWN 1/2 you get the store bought deal plus, tons, and tons, and tons, and............tons of extra stuff from the vault, modules, scripts, haks, on and on and on. So, for you pittance of a few dollars you get way more than most games will be able to give you. If you don't care for the OC, try some of the modules, then get online and visit some of the persistent worlds out there.

If you are looking for gaming bang for buck look no further than the NWN & NWN2 games. You have hundreds of hours of gameplay in the OCs and Exp's and that does not include the literally 1000's of mods and PWs available online.
As far as graphics, DA might be better in some places, but IMO it's a toss up for areas:
Jabberwocky 1 - Random Area Pic
Jabberwocky 2 - Random Overland Map Pic

NWN2 graphics are fine and I think they will age well, nothing to worry about graphics there.
NWN's graphics are a little dated, personally I couldn't get into NWN because of graphics back on release date and I stopped playing it after a weekend or so. I don't know however if there are texture packs & stuff to improve them made by fans. If yes (gfx can be upgraded) then I'd recommend buying NWN1, I'll give it a second try myself then, if not I'd skip NWN1 and play NWN2.
Overall NWN2 is DAO quality and well worth playing imo, especially MotB (played OC+MotB, can't say about SoZ, which I ordered today, nor MoW which I don't have). However in view of the BG remake mod you may want to buy SoZ as well.
If you are pro anti-DRM, like me, it's worth purchasing the retail DVDs because last patch removes DRM, which was anyhow CD-check based. If not, I think the best deal would be 29.13 £ from Atari's online store (NWN2 Deluxe - includes NWN2+MotB+SoZ).

Lyssistr, check out NWShader by peachykeen in the NWN forums. You'll be amazed. Also CTP, CEP2.0 and Project Q have all amped up the resolutions and visual quality of NWN. Worth checking out.
