But I'm a lil shocked to see that playing the flash game gives you... YET MORE release day junk for your char. As though the 432234 pre-order and CE tchockes weren't enough. Am I the only one who thinks this is getting out of hand? >< Gear should be part of game design! not something you get for participating in a publicity campaign!

I believe several of the pre-order and market things are only available from shopkeepers and other sources much later on in the game, so it's not like you're level 1 guy will be dropped into the world with a full set of awesome items.Srikandi715 wrote...
Hopefully it's better than the thing EA put out as a sims promoSeems to be their new thing, though.

But I still kinda agree, there's quite a few cool items a lot of people could miss out on if they don't pre-order, get the CE, or a number of other things.

Pretty much.
I only hope that those items/whatever from microtransaction won't be necessary to complete the game on hard, nor will they deprive us of those promised DAO items from Journey.

Ahh, I completely missed that. My head started spinning when I saw multiplayer.
Trying to make money off something they created? Curse their black hearts!Twitchmonkey wrote...
According to the article, it seems the first chapter in its entirety will be free, it's only the chapters that follow that will be paid for. Personally I have no problem paying a few dollars for a well-made game that entertains me for a couple of hours, way cheaper than a movie. I don't see myself paying 10 dollars for it though, so hopefully they'll keep the price down. Plus, come on guys, do you really believe that you should just get everything for free because you just deserve it? These guys might be getting some money from BW or EA for the promotional impact this will have on DA:O, but after that I imagine that they're going to have to make their own money, and I think it's a little ridiculous to expect them to take lots of their time to produce something for no profit.
Hopefully the base product will be free. *cross fingers*

But that says it's GMT -7, which would be Pacific Daylight Time, which is supposed to ecompass the summer months, and summer ends in September as far as I know. I am confused.valleyman88 wrote...
