Wondering if anyone would like to plug or reccomend any modules they've played lately (or knw of in general) that maybe haven't recieved as much attention as others. For my part I just had a playthrough of Ceremorphed by Ahmed Abdel-Meguid which is a great little hour-or-so dungeon adventure with some really neat sequences in it, and doesn't seem to have recieved much attention so far. It get me started thinking it'd be a nice idea to help promote mods such as this one.

Any suggestions?

Edit: oops, wrong link!

Might be because it was uploaded only 5 days ago and this week everyone was busy panicking about the old forums closing down, then calming each other, packing and moving to the new forums.
;)

But I've got my eyes on that mod, too. Seems like a professionally scripted little puzzle and action game.

As for lesser known and innovative mods, I liked last year's A thief in the knight by btowle. It's a very short puzzle game and something different from your average NWN mod. It might not compare to "Ceremorphed" as the gameplay is quite simple and there is little action but I've found the story and puzzle idea quite original and enjoyed these 15 minutes at max it takes to play through (unless you fail the first time or want to try to solve the puzzle in different ways).

You're probably right about the mod I linked, but it's what set me off with the idea, so forgive me this once. :P Actually I hadn't looked at the date, as it was just something I'd bookmarked before and thought I'd check out.

That Thief in the Night module is pretty cool, as well - definitely a fun little puzzle, though perhaps a bit led. Its nice to find a few of these short, well crafted little adventures that don't require a great amount of time dedicating to playing them, but are nevertheless definitely worth checking out.

Anyone else got anything cool they'd like to share?

Do you have a link? There seem to be no files available for this module on the Vault...

Why is so complicated to get it? No wonder it's lesser known if it's not on the Vault and you have to explicitly ask before you get access to it.
:?

Could you tell us a little about the mod and why you like it?

This past weekend I played my first short mod, The Hermit's Chalice. I left comments the as RogueStork (couldn't get the same ID as I have here) if you don't mind a bit of spoiling. Was really a good short adventure, just a few things to watch for and I'm the only vote so far.

Somewhere on nwvault.ign.com there
should be the overlooked modules list;

further recommendations: all modules by Adam Miller
and all by Savant, the Lords Of Destruction series
by Fantus, Citadel Of Blood series by Trinity,
both parts of Tales of Arterra by Kevin Chan (...)

'The Hermit's Chalice'  is iirc the toolset tutorial module.

Pool of Radiance by Chris Fowler is a really nice multiplayer module.

It is a good remake of the old gold box series game we all love :-P

This module is pretty well known.

I even hosted it as an open server for some time. It not being fully persistent got me some problems but as a pure "event" multiplayer module it is excellent even though a bit dated as it doesn't use the latest tilesets and other.

@ werelynx
You should find a couple of community modules links in my "add-ons" list in my signature.
Actually if anyone knows of a better modules link, be kind to let me know. Posted Image

Posted Image A very interesting Posted Image Undead Posted Image module here: The Breach (to be played on the lowest difficulty level, or no fun!!!)
Almost 90% Hack & Slash, and too much of auto respawning for my test, but for those who miss heavy fights sometimes, against creatures you don't meet so often, like celestials and demons...
Beside, the Undead system is absolutely amazing, so smart. Too bad it doesn't really come with an appropriate story.
And playing a Mummy Lord or a vampire doesn't happen everyday
Your call.

Bubba McThudd's "Agrenost - Beneath the Cobbles" deserves more attention than what it has received. I have yet to finish it, but have been very impressed with what I have seen so far. It has 5 different story lines for different playthroughs depending on class and alignment. Very cool.

I've played "Ceremorphed" now and liked it very much. Thanks, _six!

If you're looking for more nice little adventure modules in this vein, you should try The Sunken Shrine of Ahmenkatja by Jesse Sky, unless you already know it. It's three years old but it's still got only a couple of votes even though it's one of the best examples I know for a perfect NWN short story mini-mod (and even though I keep promoting it on every possible occasion, heh).

The 3 Akkei's modules, "Orcs 1&2" and "The Breach", are way underestimated in my opinion, even if they've got very good ratings, especially considering modules written in very unusual environnements such as orcs and undeads. Talking about immersion...
Not to mention the creativity and the quality of the scripting Akkei added to the feast... Posted Image

The Hermit's Chalice was actually part of a hands -on how-to-build-a-module tutorial created by Firestarter and The Builders Project.  There are a number of versions.
