an expansion would be great, but would probably delay dragon age 2
i agree with all the people saying a dlc with a decent length, preferrably showing the warden after awakening, or if not with one of the better characters like morrigan or allistair, rather than leliana, not that i have antything against, but i didnt even see her on my first playthrough haha

i think the delay would be good TBH a little more time to devolop never hurt anyone except say silicon knights

That would be fantasmalistic. I don't think it will happen, though. Even if I would pay all my money for it.

I agree. Would be fabariffical

Is there a save game after you kill the final boss in Awakenings? I don't think there is. DAO had the epilogue save that you could import after killing that end boss... That leads me believe they have no plans for DLC or an expansion that takes our warden beyond Awakenings.

I'm down with being wrong, yo.

1. devs confirmed that da:a will be importable
2. the autosave before the mother is youre save (i guess). all choices are made and if you level up or not doesnt matter anymore.

Does anyone honestly think that a character like the Warden can be wrapped up in an expansion or DLC? And even if they could be, why do that at all? Just because the Warden isn't the protagonist in DA 2 doesn't mean he/she'll never show up again.

Flemeth is still around. Morrigan is still around. Potential for 2 more Blights. Even if another Blight never occurs, the Warden is too significant a character to simply fade away into the unknown. I fully expect him/her to show up in future games or even at the end of DA 2.

I agree, the Warden was a great character and has alot of  market value to just be left gone, He/she will be back and the story was one that could really be epic and I would not dought that he/she may be seen at the tale end of DA2....leading to part 3....I have a funny feeling that Hawke and the Warden's worlds will run into each other and it's not going to be good.

I've been thinking about that, too. I don't know how possible it would be, but imagine if, say, Hawke ends up taking on the Chantry, or having some kind of issue with the ruler of Ferelden.... There might be a war, or some kind of conflict. Suppose they made a game where you could play either the Warden or Hawke, with all the decisions you made as their past histories, influencing who was allied with each?

Sure, if given a worthy and conclusive ending. I'd say it should end as it should have in the first game, with a heroic sacrifice, but it seems most here would disagree with me on that.

And even if they could be, why do that at all?

Why leave an unfinished tale unfinished? Why leave money on the table? Fact is, people want to on one last journey with the character they love and if possible they damn well want to see Morrigan to close up one last loose end. The fact that most epilogue in Awakening ends with the Warden just vanishing is also something that does not lie well with most people.

I'd prefer a more standalone story somewhere outside of Ferelden, having little or nothing to do with the Grey Wardens or the Darkspawn, perhaps even a few years after Awakening. One last rise to glory, one last stand against the wrongdoers of Thedas and maybe even one last chance at romance.

Just because the Warden isn't the protagonist in DA 2 doesn't mean he/she'll never show up again.

The Warden is an empty vessel without you, the player, making his or her choices, thus limiting his potentional. At the most you might just see your old Warden plus companions walking through Lothering at the beginning.

Flemeth is still around. Morrigan is still around. Potential for 2 more Blights. Even if another Blight never occurs, the Warden is too significant a character to simply fade away into the unknown. I fully expect him/her to show up in future games or even at the end of DA 2.

Like I said, there is nearly no potential for a mute character in a series which will then have transitioned to voiced characters. I doubt people will like to see their Wardens do or say anything they don't want them to do (or say anything, for that matter).

Just pure speculation on my part, but isn't 2/11/2011 supposed to be a big date for bioware? Release of a 2nd expansion perhaps since the end of Awakenings was left fairly open? It would make sense to me, because that may get those players who have shelved da:o back into the game and more apt to purchase da2. Wishful thinking though. Any thoughts?

Personally, if they did do another expansion (which is highly, highly unlikely), I'd rather they focused it on what the forces of Ferelden were doing while the Warden was out gathering allies.

Showing maybe your character fighting against the darkspawn as they swarm the land, participating in the minor civil war they hand, interacting with Howe, Loghain, and Cathrien with none of them acting like usurping, traitorous dogs, and so on.

I'm pretty sure there will be. Just be patient. DLC or expansion.. it will come out soon.. until the release of DA2.. Bioware will flood us with DLCs.

I believe there is hope for a second expansion. Why? When you choose specializations with Awakening installed, there is room for two more. Ooooh!

DLC for Dragon Age was meant to continue for 2 full years after it's release. Do ya reckon they'll keep on doing it after DAII is released?

No. That was a marketing lie, most likely.

I'd welcome a second DAO expansion.

DA2's changes are welcome, but I'd like to stick around in DAO's storyline just a little longer before DA2 release, DLC is one way but a 2nd expansion would be preferable, due to longer duration.

I'm pretty sure Gaider or Chris have stated that they are going to continue with expansions/dlcs between now and DA2. Don't quote me ion that though.

Only dlc. There has been no talk of a new expansion.

Yes there have. When Awakening was released they said that it was not the last DAO expansion and not the last DLC.

I love the format of Leliana's Song, and I would rather see similar short adventures released for the other characters than another long expansion.

(Also this thread is kind of off-topic, sorry to be part of the problem!)

I wouldn't mind another expansion. I think Awakening was great and I want to see more of my former squadmates other than Oghren or Wynne.
