I've recently reinstalled the game and despite following the instructions in the sticky concerning it I can't get it to show up, all the tabs are empty. I tried following the instructions to reinstall the update service yet I just got errors in the command prompt telling me the installation failed. What's confusing me even more is that from what I've found it seems like this is only an issue with versions of the game downloaded online (unless I'm just being an idiot and missing something) and I installed it with an actual disc rather than downloading it off of Steam or something. Does anyone have any idea what's going on with it? I'd prefer not to have to play without any of the DLC that I've paid for but it's looking like that's the only option.

It is probably the windows securitysystem that blocks it. Try this:

1) Click [Windows key]+R then type in services.msc

2) When the window comes up, locate ''Dragon Age Origins - Content
Updater'', rightclick and ''Start''.

I wasn't kidding when I said I tried everything in the sticky, though I may have seen that suggestion somewhere else and it wasn't in the sticky. I've tried that, it's not even in the list.

I got the same exact problem.. Tried to re-play the game today, which works fine enough, but none of the DLC is there anymore

And I have this problem, too. Well, at least I found the right thread to watch.

I really hope I'm just missing the solution somewhere, because otherwise this is ridiculous. All these people who can't get their DLC to work, and it's been happening for (judging from the age of the sticky) at least 9 months. What the hell?

I tried that and think I found my problem. I moved DAO from c/ to k/ and it won't let me reset the path...
I also tried manually running it but it is telling me it cannot connect to a server. Is the service running.

*sigh*

Did you even read the topic and what they suggested? Someone already said to do that exact thing. It's not even in the list for me.

EDIT: I spoke a bit too soon (I didn't read the whole thing the first time and didn't see the bottom part) but the bottom part (which hadn't been mentioned yet) still didn't work. It's still not in the list.

2ND EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: Okay, what the hell? How is this even possible? I realized that the last time I installed the game it was using the EA Download Manager (I couldn't find the CD but I had the manual so I could reigster the game to my account). Well, I decided to retry that. Turns out the EA Download Manager still had all the files, I didn't even have to redownload them. Ignoring the fact that it's a blatant waste of space (though it did save me from redownloading 7.9 gigabytes) I reinstall it. Using the exact same files it used when the updater worked fine. The exact same updater files. Yeah, it doesn't work.

Try logging out and logging back in. I activated the updater service, but I had to log out and in while in-game to get it to recognize that I had made a change. Just a suggestion.

Nope, that doesn't work. On a side note, has Bioware actually said anything concerning this? An issue that makes it impossible to get DLC that's lasted 9+ months seems fairly major.

Bioware made it pretty clear to me when I had an issue with Mass Effect 2 that you're on your own if you got an issue.

The 1.04 made it say my downloadable content is 'unauthorised' so I can't even play my saved games anyway.

It just made mine say unauthorised as well.. What the hell? A patch that removes things?

What's going on here? I can't even play my Saved Games after Steam updated me to 1.04 overnight without my permissions. Grr. I should pay attention to Steam's auto-update feature.
